ice fest

Hi all,

So I have heard from Back Country about the Ice Fest. It will be the
weekend of the 3rd of january. I should be getting a flyer from them
soon and will pass it along to everyone. Closer to the event we can
start talking about helping out Back Country. I think it will just be
one day. Perhaps we can get a schedule going and if everyone put in a
little time we can easily get the day covered.

Sorry I accidentally hit send.  The only other thing I wanted to say was that the Ice Fest is actually 2 days, Saturday and Sunday.  Saturday is all the clinics and Sunday is just demos but I am pretty sure Southwest Adventure Guides will be setting up routes for Sunday, and the gear will be available for demo but there won't be any instruction.  Let me know if you have any additonal questions.  There is a gathering on Sat. night at the Abbey Theatre as well.

Betsey I am email incompetent today.  I prepared one email thought I sent it and then sent you the remainder and then found that my first reply didn't go through.  Anyway, Southwest Adventure Guides holds the permit for the event and will be doing all of the instruction for clinics, setting up all the routes and handle overseeing event safety.  Backcountry is in charge of all the gear demos and I think we are covered for the event with staff.  I think we can just encouraged climbing club members to attend the event as participants.  You could contact SWAG to see if they are in need of any volunteers for the event.  I will also confirm with Ben whether or not we are in need of volunteers to help.  Thanks for helping spread the word.  Feel free to contact me with any questions.

Hey girls. I am moving back to Durango just in time for ice climbing
season. I want to help out wherever I can. Can't wait!!! Any ideas on
some cheap gear rentals?? Will Backcountry give us a little break on
some? Guess I will find out later.

Are any girls from Chicks with Picks going to be down for the Fest???
