Due to time & essays etc. etc. I've only just had a chance to examine
the TT4th rules recently. I must say I'm very impressed. Here is a
coherent and consistent set of rules. If these replaced TT's tomorrow,
we would have nothing but gained.
I'm particularly impressed by the separate addition of Necromancy and
Blot points, the addition of Social skills, and the mechanics for
warrior mages and warrior priests, the perquisites for supernatural
skills. More to the point, the system appears streamlined and homogenised.
The only (very minor) complains I have tend to be small details of
little consequence, which I believe to be sign of the system's success.
The priest primary (Faith?) currently has Mathematics as perquisite.
While that made perfect sense for Arcane and Necromancy, Faith might
make more sense if it required (say) Sage or something like that. To
represent the priest being well-read.
I love the spells and am very impressed with the way they are set out
and rethought through; I see little problems with them. I particularly
like the addition of Precasting as a Grey spell.
Aside form that, it's the little touches that make it. 'Wyrding stone'
for the focus is just cool. I recommend people look through the set and
see what they think.

I'm glad you like the Necromancy ideas and yes, the system is more
streamlined. One of the goals of the system is to make the game rules
smaller and easier to work with.

This is a very good point and one I'd not thought of. It'll be in the
next draft.

The Wyrding Stone is just another name for a focus, which is actually a
leftover from the first draft, when Arcane Lore was called 'Wyrding Lore'.

Yes, but only in my notebook. I'm working on finishing the spells list
in what little spare time I have, then I'll flesh out the info on
Elementalism, Necromancy, Faith and Illusions.
After that, I'll rework the miracles list so a comparison can be made
between the Basic System and Fourth Edition priests, lorewardens and
spirit wariors.
