Will Watson the filmmaker of Soldiers Without Guns has offered the Dances of Universal Peace group a 20% discount to Fridays premiere at the MTG Theater.
Friday the 9th of August at the MTG Century Theatre.
I would like to offer all members of your community a 20% discount to join me for a night of film, live performances and a Q&A session.
The documentary has a strong Hawkes Bay connection featuring Des Ratima, Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit. Brigadier Roger Mortlock, the first ever New Zealander to lead a coalition force. Roger lives in Hawkes Bay as does ex-peacekeeper Rata Wairama who was an active peacekeeper on the ground.
This untold story of the world’s most successful peacekeeping mission was led by New Zealand. The 10 year civil war was ended using Maori culture, love and music - instead of guns. The film is narrated by Lucy Lawless and has a powerful all Kiwi soundtrack with music from the likes of The Black Seeds, Tiki Taane, Anika Moa, Trinity Roots and many more.
Soldiers Without Guns is currently the highest rated New Zealand film ever at 9.7/10 according to IMDb the world largest film database. It took 13 years to make however it recently won 3 international awards. We are so looking forward to sharing it in Will’s hometown of Hawkes Bay.
