to Dungeons & Dragons, oh my!
4E Multiclassing is possible but limited by switching primary class
abilities with secondary class abilities, and secondary class is stuck
once chosen (the later has always been done). No third class, period.

Does this multiclassing restriction really helping the player at all? It
really seems to be hampering DMs as well who are into building villains to
have a large variety of skills instead of limited skill set.

I must admit I have encountered so many game writers trying to garner any
information from Wizards that the rumours about 4e seem to be getting
weirder! I myself am still a bit worried that suddenly I will have to
replace over 50 books and thus probably be divorced by Christmas! lol

Personally, I am skipping 4E. Much as I did 3E and 3.5.

I skipped 2nd edition - I couldn't take having to try and buy every TSR
product that came out at the time when I was a poor student and just settled
for my old bashed up 1st edition books which still had the assassin as
class.

I can see me going back to playing Rolemaster...

I would before I switched to another WotC product. I just don't care
for their material.
I felt that way about 3E (not wanting to rebuy all the books that is).
Then again I am neck deep in 2E material still.
Can't say I cared for the assassin as a class, does not seem like much
of a group player more of a solo adventurer IMO, and I run for groups
usually.

I think its more sentimentality of how 1st edition was put together than the
actual playability of the class itself, especially how some of the classes
had a level limit on them whilst others you could go one feasibly forever.

I must admit as material goes on RPGs at present I am fond of how Paranoia
has come on with Paranoia XP. I am not fond of what they were doing with
Cyberpunk? And d20 D&D will always have certain good points and a whole heap
of bad points to it.
