Got some samples today for aluminum cthulhu dice.  If the price is right, we could offer other metals and custom designs.  Metal dice are becoming pretty popular though, so I want to offer something original.  I'm thinking of making these in copper with a patina.  That would feel more "cthulhu" to me.  But it will take time to get a prototype.

Woho!!

These dice look great! I guess that the production costs/time for a whole set would go over the roof, right?

Did you get a quote for them? They do look extremely good.

Just having a quick look at the Foam Brain Dice page, it looks like they are really appetizing because they are a decently good price and they have a great finish. I'm not sure if the company offers different finishes on the dice.

Possibly around two dollars a die for the base cost.

Base cost meaning there would be no profit at that point.  I'll get exact numbers.

Yeah. that's still really good though. Considering two aluminum dice from another manufacturer was $12 and $10 for a twenty sided metal die from Foam Brain Dice. I'm sure that you can fit in there really well!

Just a doubt, I have to fish a die from a sack, seen that the alluminium will weight a bit more than the other dice isn't this a easy way to avoid it?

I dont think that they're being made for dungeon dice. Its an idea for a separate kickstarter campaign.

What about giving them a patina yourself, to test it?
or something like that?

Sam had the idea of looking at rusted copper (?) dice instead. They're more expensive, but they look proper Lovecraftian. Not sure what's happening with this idea now, but that process does look simple and could make for a lower cost option for the stingy bastards on KS :P

Do you mean darkened copper or greened? Verdigris is the term, and you can produce it in several ways. Just keep in mind it is a bit poisonous and will smell on your hands, so it should be laquered. This will change the color also. Just google a bit and you will find several ways to create it.

You can also use solutions and electric currents to add a copper finish to aluminum dice. Then you can age this patina. It looks outstanding if done correctly.
Nice to make simple tryouts, a bit much to do in a large scale :D

Those all sound really cool. I think the copper ones were going to be greened. And they were professionally made, so I'm pretty sure that they can be trusted to not stink or stain. I think when it comes to a mass produced KS campaign, they shouldn't be handmade unless you're a professional working from home...

I must have misunderstood, I thought you wanted to try and color them yourself to see how the different colors would come out.
Being made by professionals I´m sure they´ll be awesome!
