To me the bomb always seemed out of place in the world of Dungeon Dice. And its effects seem similar to the curse.
So....how would the two be used differently?

Bomb can be used to help OR hurt heros.  It is like a combo of Strength Potion and Curse.

Yeah. To me, in theory a "curse" could also be something that could be thrown at a hero. If symbols are at a premium (i.e. you want to have as few as possible to not over-clutter the game), I'd think you could combine the bomb and the curse (preferably eliminating the bomb) and free up space for a new symbol with a more unique gameplay effect..

But that's just my opinion :)

To me the bomb seems a bit out of theme. Indeed curses, and strength potions are commonly seen in fantasy games. A bomb is a bit harder to sell, right? This and the fact that it is clearly better than scroll and curse altogether make me feel the bomb as the worst die in the game

Are there other options that fit better with the theme, are more unique, and enhance gameplay?

What about "the LURE," a bone-shaped ONE-USE die:
If, after the monster dice are rolled, you've realized the monster you're fighting is too powerful, throw the LURE die. If it comes up with the bone-shape on the face, have the monster attack the player to your right.

And maybe if the monster is not defeated, you can sneak in and steal the treasure while it is wounding the other player?

This die seems like a better idea, but I would add an odd/ even roll to determine left or right, for which player that will be attacked. And I take it you only intended it to hurt that player by a single wound? Or is it feasible that the player could actually fight and defeat that monster to aquire rewards?

Bomb has always been sought after for us, since the effect can both aid and hinder.

You could mark the face with an "L" or "R".....

And yes, I think it'd be fine if the other player defeats the monster and get rewards. Either way, the reward is going to be gained, but you could suppose that your odds would be increased if you weren't the one facing it. So you've got to use it when you know you're going to lose in combat to it, and you hope the other player will too. :)

I personally feel that this new lure idea is, while cool, a little overpowered. I know it can be diluted by something like Lure(L)/Lure(L)/Lure(R)/Lure(R)/Nothing/Nothing, but if the basic premise is OP, then diluting only lessens the blow, not the OP itself. If I have a Lure die, I can pull a ghost and roll it, knowing I won't be able to win and then just lure it to someone else. Who cares as someone else takes a hit, thus slowing down their path to victory. Having a lure spell suddenly becomes a get out of jail free card, even if it's only 66% effective. I agree that curse and bomb don't need to be separate and you can just have a curse (or a bomb) rather than both, but let's keep the creative juices flowing on some other one use ideas.
