Here you go. :)

Special thanks to Paul for all of the hard work he has put in all these years. We literally could not have done it without him.
Special thanks to Richard Turner for starting this project and putting so much into it.
Thanks to everyone who has helped out in all of your various capacities.

Hi, Nash/FD. :)

Nice to hear from you. First, let me share the link to the "new" Dungeon Craft community.
This is also the main home for the FRUA community. Scroll up the page to see those.

What version of DC are you using? We have changed things up a bit since the IronWorks days. Namely, if you are using a new engine/editor, the old folder format doesn't work and the old config.txt will need to be updated.
As to what version of Windows will DC work on, Win XP and up, for .914 and the current version - 2.59.

Hi...Eric? (please tell me what you want to be called)

Thank you,  even though DC is something I dabble within, you will see me pop up once a while.

I'm not running any version.  That's the problem.   When it turned to version 1.00 i tried to update from 9.14, i think...or whatever the latest version before that was, on a machine i know that supported it, and I couldn't update it or even run it after.  Which means I lost everything I had.  I kept your 1.00 email, obviously, so I could tackle it later.  Recent, well, relatively recently, I upgraded to a machine running Win8.1 , and has infinitely more memory.  When I switched over, I tried installing DC fresh, no dice. "Config.txt could not be found...."  I tried again yesterday morning, same thing again.  Finally, I began seeking out help...which led me to you....

It's not your version of windows - .930 and up use a specific layout for each design folder, though the design folder can be anywhere.
Here are links that you need.:

I usually go by manikus for DC, but for some reason, SourceForge sent me the message you wrote instead of a note that there was a message waiting...

Manikus,

Well, i got DC .914 on my comp now, but unfortunately it's not working properly.  it's giving me this error everytime i try to save, or create a new design.  So I don't have any designs at all, the default design.dsn won't even show up in the folder. Also i can't seem of anyway of upgrading.  I think I have the newest files but I can find no way of implement them.
I'm so sorry for being a dunce, but you have any suggestions?

Nash

Hey Nash,

Go to the first link in my previous email. It takes you to the forums. Follow the first link in the first post to be taken to the Sourceforge download site. Click on 2.17 and you will get a list of packages to download. You want complete_Starting_Package_2_17.zip. Download this and unzip wherever you want.
Inside it is an editor folder that has everything you need, in the proper format. The TemplateDesign.dsn folder needs to stay where it is relative to the editor executable, but you can copy it anywhere you want (and rename it to anything you want) for your design. Conversely, you can fire up the editor and choose to create a new design.

Phew,
Have to say it took me two tries, (Geez, I feel like an idiot, I swear those options weren't there the first time) but I'm finally back in the dungeon crafting business.  The program's running fine, and already starting on a adventure (it's a retread over crossed ground, but hey).... Thank you Manikus!  You just made a truly sucky day less so....
Now I only have to see if I can find my custom resources....

I'm glad it worked out for you this time. :)

Check out the reonis forums for lots of artwork, and follow the links to look at Uatu, Dinonykos and my web sites -  lots of great stuff. :)

Hey Manikus,

Um, hate to bother you, but I have a problem.  I signed up for the forum like last week, it said i'd get a confirmation email, so far no email....  I wouldn't worry about it, but i have some questions about GPDL and items, and some other stuff.  I really need some help.  And I'm sure you don't want to be answering like a million questions...

Try posting again. I'm looking in the forums moderator area and I can see that you signed up on the 23rd of this month and everything looks fine. You should be good to go.
Try again and if it doesn't work, let me know and I will have one of the admins work some magic. :)
