Dunedin Orienteering is happy to be supporting Waikouaiti School with their upcoming fundraising rogaine. This event looks like it will be a lot of fun!

Waikouaiti School FOTS (friends of the school) wanted to do something a little different as a fundraiser this year – outside of the typical bingo nights and fairs. An event that would be a lot of fun, would celebrate our beautiful area, and pull people into the community. The idea of a local rogaine has been thrown around a lot over the last few years, but it took the support of Dunedin Orienteering to help make the event come to life (we are very grateful for the support!).

 

The ‘Waikouaiti Treasure Hunt Rogaine’ is an event we want teams to remember, so we have added a theme and a bit of fun! There will be pirate ‘loot’ out at some of the checkpoints for teams to collect, but teams will have to look out for our rogue pirate who will be out on course, after the team’s loot! We will have a 1.5 hour course designed for families and beginners, plus a 3 hour course which is designed to be more challenging, the event will have something for everyone!

 

There will be an epic BBQ held after the event, for everyone to refuel (so bring cash).

There is a free loot bag per team at the start of the event, but this will be limited to the first 50x teams registered - so make sure you get your registration in quick!'
