Spot welding battery packs

Hi folks!

     I'm wanting to assemble a small battery pack with a few CR123A batteries - just a one-off to replace the battery in my PLB (official route is roughly $300, looks like an easy DIY).  The pack seems to be spot welded, based on this thread:

aliexpress has loads of options for spot welders as used for battery packs, basic ones start around ~$50.  Curious if any of you happen to have a spot welder already, or have hands-on experience with assembling this type of battery pack?

Sorry no spot welder and no experience with that type of battery pack. There is a guy out here in waitati that deals with electric cars and batterys etc and that might be similar, although I do not know. I can find is contact details if that helps

It worth talking a look at DYI capacitor spot welder setups - just Google this as there are loads of examples - perfect for making up battery packs.
