I've just added the photos I took a few weeks ago to the documentation
of my bookscanner at
http://dspace.org.nz/2011/09/11/bookscanner-project/ so anyone can now
test out how well I write documentation :-)

The only thing I don't have is a couple of detailed shots of how to take
a hacksaw to a newly bought webcam. So, in order to finish off the
documentation I've got a one time deal.

If anyone wants their own bookscanner based on my design, just buy the
cameras and I will print out the printed parts and get you all the other
parts needed as well. Then we can organise a time for you to put it all
together with me just watching over your shoulder to see where you are
confused. I'll also take the opportunity to take the pictures of how to
disassemble the webcams so I can finish off that piece of documentation.

If more than one person wants to do this, we can try to have a group
build session where you all put together the one book-scanner or we can
have everyone buy their own parts (I have quite a bit of perspex and
plywood but you'd have to buy everything else) and put together their
own one Saturday afternoon (I estimate that it will take 3 hours, not
including cutting things to length). We'd have to allow enough lead time
to print out all the 3D printed parts though.

Note that the scripts linking together the software I'm using at the
moment are Linux only (only tested on 32 and 64 bit Ubuntu).
