*Our talk with Leanne Pooley has unfortunately been postponed - we’ll instead hear from the VF 48H Film Festival on Wednesday!*
We’re kicking off Collective Conversations with two amazing guests from the country’s most hectic and thrilling film festival!
SFC are excited to welcome members back to online talks with our Collective Conversations sessions, presenting relaxed and insightful talks & interviews.

The Vista Foundation 48Hour Film Festival is exactly what it sounds like: teams from across the motu will have 48 hours to write, shoot, and cut a short film in just one hectic and thrilling weekend.
Join us to chat to the 48hrs team about:
What 48hrs is and why you should do it;
The new Across Aotearoa region format;
Assembling a team and getting prepared;
Top tips for shoot weekend.
There will also be an opportunity to recruit potential team mates!
No matter your experience in the film industry, this festival is your chance to dive into 48 hours of innovation, chaos, and community. Take this opportunity to show your grit and tenacity and flex your creative muscles!
Competing in 48Hours is a must for any aspiring filmmaker. Not only is it a wild creative challenge, but it also offers the thrill of seeing your creation on the big screen with a supportive yet ravenous audience, meeting fellow movie freaks and of course the chance to win fabulous prizes.
After the competition, you will have a completed film to add to your portfolio, and hopefully a band of eager collaborators excited to make the next one.
The Vista Foundation 48Hours is more than a competition - it’s a dedicated community of grassroots filmmakers and film fanatics that all support each other at vibrant screening events across the motu.
Film Otago Southland have also jumped on to support the 48HFF hype by shouting one lucky local team’s entry fee!
Register your team then enter the draw HERE by July 23rd to be in to have your entry fee reimbursed!
Ngā mihi
