SALE OF MARTIN PHILLIPPS' DVD COLLECTION
ON JULY 2, in CASTLE 1 THEATRE at 6.30PM, you are invited to attend the sale of hundreds of dvds and Blu-Rays from the collection of late Chills' singer-guitarist, Martin Phillipps – prior to the screening of All That Jazz – partners and friends welcome!
The films for sale include several that the Society has screened in recent years, plus other works by their directors. There is also a huge range of cult classics, horrors, comedies, Hollywood classics, sci-fi, landmark NZ films, obscurities and plenty more, ranging from the bizarre to the mainstream.
Multiple works by significant directors such as Alfred Hitchcock, Orson Welles, Werner Herzog, Martin Scorsese, Akira Kurosawa, Wim Wenders, Jim Jarmusch and Fredrico Fellini will be available to buy.Martin Phillipps was a Dunedin Film Society member in the 1980s and 1990s, and film was a major passion of his. The Phillipps family wish to see his collection items go to people who will appreciate them, and the Dunedin Film Society thanks them for this opportunity. |
