The Dunedin Film Society is inviting members and the public to attend a free Sneak Peek
of the Society’s 80th Anniversary 2026 Subscription Season.
This will take place on Wednesday, 11 February at 7.30pm at the Society’s new screening venue,
the Colquhoun Lecture Theatre, on the first floor of the current Dunedin Public Hospital building,
just above the main entrance from Great King Street.
At the Sneak Peek, Ryley Atkinson, Vice-President of the New Zealand Federation of Film Societies, will introduce a selection of the key titles reflecting the major themes of the 2026 season and will illustrate his talk with clips from the selected films.
At the Sneak Peek, people will also be able to purchase Society memberships before or after Ryley’s presentation.
If members or visitors are not sure of the Colquhoun's location they should go to the main entrance of the current Dunedin Public Hospital on Great King Street and look for the Dunedin Film Society sandwich board outside. A Committee member will be standing beside it until 7.30pm each Wednesday night in February (including the Sneak Peek) and March to point people in the right direction to the Colquhoun.
If members or visitors are looking for off-street car-parking near the Colquhoun they should avoid the car parks behind the Scott Building, opposite the Hospital. These may be 24 hour tow-away spaces. There is off-street parking available after 5.30pm in the University staff car-park beside the Zoology building, Great King Street, between the Dental School and the Captain Cook.
