Since I read the Dune books, i thought they'd be amazing in Minecraft. And id love to help out on a dune mod. I'm good at photoshop, world edit/MC edit, building and configuring/making servers. Id like to help out on creating the textures for this mod, and if you can port it to SMP id be happy to get it set up and ready to go. :-) As far as world painter and building go's if you want add pre generated Sietch's or spice mining outposts to the world gen then I could deffinalty have a shot a building some and sending you the .schematics or whatever you want, for adding.
I don't know how to program in java though so sorry I couldn't help you there. But I have an idea for the programming of the sand worms, you could modify the coding of the ender dragon, when it go's through blocks i.e destroying them. for the tunnelling through the sand. and for worm signs the sand blocks above it could turned into entitles and launched mabye 3-8 blocks (depending on how deep it is) up to make a ripple effect like that described in the book.
Will do, are there any textures that you think are important i should do first.
