Hello to Duncan DNA Group F:
As before I'll sent this message by email to my main list and am also posting it here.
I've received a very nice offer from Mary Ann Dobson (who is also on our mailing list):
MAD offered (and I accepted) that she would send me a CD of all her data
for us to copy at the meeting. Her offer only requires that anyone
who copies it give her your name, address, phone number, email address,
DNA Kit number, and a brief lineage of your oldest ancestors -- only those who were living in the 1800s or before. Rightfully so, she's careful about privacy issues related to her data.
Be aware that her data is in the older WordPerfect 5.1 and she also has a
copy saved as text files (without underlining or bold). Both will be
on the CD. I have occasionally received something from her in these
formats and my Microsoft Word was able to 'translate'. So if you get a
copy, I think you should be able to use it.
Her data is on line as always, but if you want a CD copy, bring your own
CD to the meeting and make your own copy using your laptop or mine.
Also bring a sheet of paper with the above-requested info on it. I'll
collect them and mail them to her.
On Monday of the meeting, we'll have a phone call with her for a group
chat. We're scheduled for 11:00 a.m. California time for that call. Be
thinking of questions you might want to ask her.
Enough for this time.
