Adding a few items to this sight so everyone has benefit of this info.

The first info (pages 1-3) was provided to me by James Sosebee of Asheville, NC.

Pages 1-3 are in regard to Job's enlistment into the Revolutionary War in Bute Co, NC.

Note: On Page # 2 His name is spelled SOLISBURY and he claims to be age 20 in 1778, and from Virginia. This would make his birth year =1758. (more on the year 1758 later).

Also, on page 3 of this Bute Co., NC document there are some interesting names = John Crabb, Jarrol Crabb & Osbern Crabb.  I suspect "Jarol" = "Gerard" and "Osbern" = "Osborn"

Westmoreland County. Va. Wills Book V.
Name: Temperance Blanchflower 12 Dec 1711 04 Feb 1712
To Ann Davis when 17; son Osman Crabb ; my grandchildren the children of my two sons Gerard Hutt and Osman Crabb , the two latter to be exors.

Temperance Gerrard married several times. She was the wife of Benjamin Blanchflower when she wrote the above Will.  (See attached "Temperance Blanchflower" document for further info). The Henry Dunkan mentioned in this attachment was the father of Blanchflower Duncan Sr. of Bute Co, NC,

Now, back to the year 1758:

Around the first part of May 1758 Blanchflower Duncan Sr. has a child and the mother's maiden name is spelled several ways.

Fairfax Co. VA Court Minute Books
18 Aug. 1752, Blanchflower Dunkin undertook to keep Sussanah, bastard child of Elizabeth Shrewsberry. (pg.225).
16 May 1758, Blanchflower Duncan informed court of Elizabeth Shroesberrys base born child (pg.227)
16 May 1758, Blanchflower Duncan to be security for Elizabeth Shrosberry (pg.228)

Now to a conflict in the birth date/year of Job Sosebee,

(See attached Revolutionary War pension info for Job Sosebee.)

Best I can tell from going through Sosebee info Job's widow claimed he was born in the first part of May in 1759. Later, references on Find-A-Grave sho his birthday/year as May 11th, 1759. However, from attached enlistment info, Job himself believe he was 20 year old in 1778.

Just saying if he was born May 11, 1758 he would match up nicely with this second child by Elizabeth Shroesberry (or various spellings).

Now, to an unexplained (and/or unclaimed/identifiable "Kesiah" Duncan in Bute Co, NC. Could this be Elizabeth Shroesberry (sp) Duncan. If so, below document indicates heirs.

In other words could she have been a Kesiah Elizabeth Shroesberry or could Kesiah be a nickname for "Elizabeth". Supposedly "Kesiah" in Hebrew means daughter of Job

Bute Co. NC Will Book A (typed) (FHL film 531,530)
A-112: Rec. Feb. 1770 (no date), I Blanch Flower Dunkin of the County of North Carolina (?) send Greeting &c. Blanch Flower (his mark B D) Dunkin. Wit. John Vallandingham, Samuel Hammond, Dawson Vallandigham.

Now to a last few tidbits of info in regard to Job Sosebee. He is connected to a John Golightly in SC .......From A Sosebee researcher:

"On Job's plantation which he owned jointly with Rev. John Golightly, for a time, were born Job's ten children - seven sons and three daughters: Sampson, Mary, Thomas, James, William, Job, Isaac, Abner, Suzannah, Mary and Elizabeth".

Deed abstracts, Spartanburg SC:
2-25-1792 John Golightly to Broderick Mason for 25 pound s Sterling sold 125 acres on Fairforest Creek Witnesses: Francis Golightly and Joel Hurt

 60. Christopher Golightly, born December 01, 1771 in Sussex Co., VA Or Spartanburg Co., SC; died September 20, 1849 in Spartanburg, SC. He was the son of 520. William Golightly and 521. Amey Shands. He married 261. Jane Harrison.

 261. Jane Harrison, born March 27, 1779 in Spartanburg Co., South Carolina. She was the daughter of 522. Richard Harrison and 523. Anne Patillo. (wfd - Ann Patillo's father Henry Patillo taught Nicholas Rochester (downline of Peter Duncan the Elder)....Also a Dr Richard Harrison in William Duncan of SC pension He is believed to be son of John Harrison & Sarah Daniel of Granville Co, NC connection to our Duncans. He had a brother Isham Harrison who appears to be same man in Pension records of Job Sosebee - see below)

Now to Bute, NC records = Golightly

Now check out where John Golightly had property in Bute in relationship to Blanchflower Duncan Sr.

Last Tidbit:
Job Sosebee had a relationship with the Harrison & Daniel Families in SC. See additional info in the Job Sosebee Pension info I've attached. A John Duncan witnessed the Will of John Daniel (father of Sarah Daniel Harrison) in old Granville Co, NC. Thinking this may be John Duncan, father to Ambrose Harrison Duncan. Sarah Daniel married John Harrison and had a son, Isham Harrison, who is also in Job Sosebee pension records in SC. My Ambrose Harrison Duncan's son, Charles, later purchased land from this same Daniel family in Granville Co, NC.

Also, interesting that this same Daniel Family .(James Daniel & Chesley Daniel) were witnesses when Benjamin Harrison (of Smith's creek) executed his will in Granville on 7 January 1773. It was probated at May court [Granville Will Book 1 p. 36-37]. This Benjamin Harrison is the son of George Harrison & Ann Rust, and he is son of George Harrison & Elizabeth Duncan (dt of Peter Duncan the Elder).

Well, getting late..... Hope I have portrayed the info (and a few theories) so they are understandable. Maybe we'll have time to discuss more at our Oct 2014 meeting.
