Selecttext to permanently remove it from view. You can change the redaction as you edit, but once you close the document, the redaction becomes permanent. To safeguard the original document, create a duplicate to redact.

PDF is a popular format among academic institutions and businesses. It is a great format for retaining original formatting and sharing, except for the fact that it is a challenge to edit PDFs if you don't have the right program installed. Do you want to add or remove text from a PDF file? Some Mac applications won't let you edit PDF text. So what should you do if you need to edit PDF text on Mac? The answer is with - PDFelement for Mac.

Once you have downloaded and installed PDFelement on your Mac, launch it to add files to the program. Just click on the "Open File..." button. The program will then direct you to the finder where you will have to search and open the PDF file you need.

In the top toolbar, click the "Text" button to enable editing mode. You can then click the text block to modify, insert, or delete text. To easily and smoothly edit text, you can also choose between "Select lines only" and "Select whole paragraphs". These allow you to edit the text in a line or paragraph bounding box.

PDFelement is an all-in-one PDF solution, which can also help you convert PDF to Excel, Word, EPUB, PPT, Pages, HTML, RTF, text, images, and more. You can create industry-standard PDFs from various source files and can add passwords to protect PDFs from being viewed, copied, edited, and printed. You can also hide sensitive content with redaction tools.

Open PDF files in Preview, and then click on the "T" icon on the menu tab. After a new text box appears in the PDF, you can start typing in the box to add PDF text to your file. You can also go to "Tools" and click on "Text Selection". There you can select the text of the PDF and right-click to copy it.

After editing PDF text, you can also insert annotations to the PDF files for your own use. Click the "Note" icon on the menu bar. Then click on the location within the PDF where a note must appear. Here you can insert comments in the text box for annotation. You can also drag your mouse to create the required annotation.

Editing a PDF on a Mac without Adobe can be done using various applications such as PDFelement, Preview, Pages, and online PDF editor. PDF editors like PDFelement allow you to edit existing text in PDFs on Mac, add or delete text, and convert PDF into different formats. And it is worth noting that you can PDFelement for half the price of Adobe while getting as many features as Adobe.

To edit PDF text on Mac for free, you will need to use Preview, which is a built-in tool on macOS. Alternatively, if you have Microsoft Word on Mac, you can use it to edit the text in a PDF document. Open up the document you want to edit, Microsoft Word will then convert the PDF into a Word document, which you can edit as you normally would. Overall, editing text in a PDF document using Microsoft Word on Mac is not a straightforward process. While it is possible to convert a PDF to a Word document, the original formatting may not be preserved and the converted document may not look the same as the original PDF.

With a default PDF reader like Preview on the Mac, finding a certain word in the PDF is difficult and editing a document can be almost out of the question. Without knowing which tools to use, it will be very hard to make changes to a PDF document. Fortunately, there are plenty of PDF apps to help you get the editing job done.

To help yourself with extra notes or annotations, you can add comments directly onto a PDF. Comments can be useful to readers when you want to provide extra information about certain parts of the document.

A regular PDF viewer app won't let you attach comments to specific areas on a PDF, so you need to use an editor like Nitro PDF Pro to do that. This app allows to add comments to PDF files with highlights, sticky notes, a freehand drawing. Annotations are useful because you can embed them into the file without being too distracting for a reader. You can also use the markup tools to add shapes around important areas of the PDF and underline things to remember.

Printing documents just to sign them and scan them back can be frustrating and time-consuming. Many of us don't even have printers anymore. But luckily with e-signatures, there's no need for all that.

Now you can easily add your signature to digital forms and documents in macOS. Whether you're looking to have a new client sign an agreement, a tenancy contract, or any other PDF form, e-signature will save you time (and ink).

Many of the PDF files on your computer may contain sensitive or personal information, leaving you at risk of becoming a victim to identity theft. For example, a PDF form could contain your tax information, credit card numbers, or other personal details that you don't want to share with third parties.

This is where PDF redaction comes in handy. Without an appropriate PDF editor like Nitro PDF Pro, it can be very difficult to remove parts of the text you want to hide from a document. Redaction can remove a word or an entire line of text with a black box or empty white space.

Of course, if you don't want to use software to redact your PDF, you can always take a black marker to cross out any information from a printed sheet. To make your life easier, use the following steps to redact sensitive information.

If you don't have a strong or reliable internet connection, it can be hard to send large PDF files to friends or colleagues. In order to upload large PDF files onto the cloud, send via email, or add them into size-restricted forms, you'll need an app like PDF Squeezer to help you compress the PDF file while keeping the original quality. You can rest easy that this process won't convert your PDF into a ZIP file.

With a built-in feature to send your PDF files to friends, clients, or colleagues, it makes sharing your compressed documents super easy. Click Share to send your file via text, email, or other options.

TextSniper is an app that can help you copy text from non-textual formats, saving time on retyping addresses, quotes, phone numbers, etc. The tool extracts text from graphics, banners, presentations, and even videos.

Open your PDF in Preview, click the Show Markup Toolbar icon to view editing options and select the Signature icon, press Create Signature > Click Here to Begin (select Trackpad or Camera as your input tool first).

To activate the highlight mode in Preview, select the Highlight button in the top right corner. Click on the down arrow next to the Highlight button to change color, or choose an option to underline or strikethrough.

You can draw on your PDFs in Preview when going to Show Markdown Toolbar editing mode or you can use Nitro PDF Pro for advanced scribbling and drawing on your documents, and even inserting images from your clipboard.

To change page numbering, you can use Nitro PDF Pro editor. When you open a file, go to Edit > Headers, Footers, Page numbers > Insert. From there, you can customize the position and format of page numbers as well as define a starting page.

Apart from Preview, you can use a scanning application like Prizmo app to create easily searchable PDF files out of paper-based images like brochures, books, or posters. This app lets you scan and recognize any photo documents to make them editable. You can even take a photo of a physical document on your phone, and finish editing on your Mac.

So with the use of a few apps, you'll easily be able to create, search, and share PDFs all while saving time and frustration by being able to directly make changes to your documents, add notes, or remove personal information with redaction. Best of all, Setapp can help you do all of the above and features every app you can use to increase your PDF productivity. You can try the apps mentioned here at no cost along with over 230 other high-quality macOS apps.

I recently edited a picture in preview by adding text to it. I then saved it, not realizing that the original would not be saved (without the text). When I went in to the picture later to delete the text, it was not possible. Is there a way I can either recover the original photo or delete the text I already saved?

I ran into the same situation and figured out that you can remove and undo the addition of the text by simply going to drop down under File and selecting "Revert To" and then selecting "Browse All Versions". There you will be able to select the version without the text. Hope this helps!

If you have access to Photoshop CS5 or newer, you might try one of the selecting tools to select the text and use Content Aware Fill and/or the Clone Stamp Tool to remove the text. (This does not make your text editable, but the text can still be removed)

One way is to sample the text color with the Eyedropper Tool. Use Select > Color Range. Use Select > Modify > Expand.. (about 2 piksels to cover the antialiasing). Deselect other parts of the image with the same color. Then use Content Aware Fill. Redo Content Aware Fill or use Clone Stamp Tool on problem areas.

Open image in photos, click on image in tool bar, click on show edit tools. Once that opens look for revert to original image and click on that. Close show edit tools and it should revert back to the original photo. It worked for me to remove text. Hope this helps.

Messages in iOS and macOS will automatically generate inline previews for links people send. By default these render as gray bubbles showing the page title, domain, and small icon. By adding a small amount of Open Graph metadata on your website pages, you can make these iMessage link previews look great by displaying images and meaningful captions.

When people send messages containing links to web sites, Messages in iOS and macOS will automatically generate inline previews for the links. These previews rely on metadata from the page referenced by the link. If no metadata can be found, a generic link preview is generated as shown in Figure 1.
