I have loaded one item from the asset library into ArchiCAD. This works fine and have had no issues, however I have had no luck adding any other objects from the asset library. I can open the asset library, pick and place and item - but this is when the item simply doesn't show up in the model. Is there any reason why this would be happening?

I also had a question on managing lighting. Is there a 'for dummies' guide on this somewhere in the wide world of the internet? Looking for something ArchiCAD specific that uses the 'out of the box' library parts. I'm finding the lighting I put in washes out the scene, no matter what settings I change. Thanks!

Further, there is no ArchiCAD - Enscape guide regarding lighting yet. We plan to release a lot more tutorial videos in the future to target these areas and we know that there is demand for them as well. Maybe you could also send me a screenshot of the scene which seems washed out? In addition to that, you can also gladly send me the project of yours and let me know what you're trying to achieve lighting-wise and I can setup the scene accordingly.

We are having the same problem here. I am working with enscape 2.5 and archicad 22 in teamwork. I added a few enscape trees serveral weeks ago, but i can no longer add assets now. Thinh's workaround does work for me, but it is not ideal.

georgia.p , thinhpham , matthewbolton , DGD-Duane , we're currently busy with finding the cause behind this issue, so it would be very helpful if you could kindly send in a dedicated feedback report as described here! Please also add your forum name or the title of this thread in the submission from so that we can easily connect the data.

On top of that, it would be fantastic if you could also send the/a project alongside with which the asset placement is not working. You can simply add the link to download the project in the feedback report itself! The project can be, for example, uploaded to wetransfer, or anywhere you like.

I'll send a report with the feedback button. I found out today if i use 'reserve all' function in teamwork, then i am able to place assets normally. So it seems like there is a problem with the teamwork function and enscape asset placement. Unfortunately i cannot send out the file i am working on, but if i find some extra time i can see if i can reproduce the issue in a new project file.

I've been able to reproduce this issue. So I can now take a closer at what's happening and fix the behaviour. I can't give you a timeline on when I've been able to fix this as I've just now been able to reproduce this, but I just wanted to inform you that we're now working on a fix for this.

Could you briefly elaborate a bit further on what you're referring to with "is not working" exactly? Is this behavior related to this specific thread, or can you maybe simply not use our library due to connection problems? If it's the first, kindly try the short guide provided by Arne above.

The Archicad 25 Library always end up missing, randomly. For example, when I open a teamwork file today everything is okay and is in place but in the next days, the whole library is missing again and what's left would be is the embedded library and another library with the project name and inside are the only library parts currently in use and existing in the model.

Has anyone who has opened a project, found the libraries missing, gone and tried resetting their local files for the project? From my knowledge of TW it downloads the entire project to the local computer then just syncs changes. So maybe some bug in the syncing and just the libraries become desynced?

This Library Manager Dialog screenshot does not look good. Over 4000 warnings? There should be none, you should resolved all of them as they can cause all kinds of issues from performance issues to display and 2D/3D representation issues (e. g. when multiple versions of the same library part exist within the loaded libraries).

Also, is it the "Archicad Library 25.lcf" not located within the "Archicad Library 25" folder? Then it should not be loaded separately as it is already loaded as part of the "Archicad Library 25" folder.

Also, why are PLA files loaded as libraries? That is a bad practice. What kind of library parts are located in those PLA files that are not available in the other libraries? If there are project-specific library parts, those should be in the Embedded Library, not loaded from a PLA.

One of these would be the use of generic or industry-standard objects for ArchiCAD. These objects can vary from typical furniture placeholders to generic toilet fixtures, all with typical measurements and generally standardized uses. As standard as they are, you might wonder where you can easily get these ArchiCAD objects.

Archibase is a no-frills, straightforward website that offers thousands of ArchiCAD-ready GDL content. Aside from the number, the categorization is also very much on point. You may be a little intimidated by the starkness of their relatively blank interface and web pages, but be assured that this website is perfect for those that need a bunch of objects for their ArchiCAD models.

It has a wide selection of ArchiCAD furniture models from its ArchiCAD furniture library making it a great destination if one is looking for furniture models. You just have to click on the category of ArchiCAD furniture download you want and select the exact model that you want to download.

They have textures on the site as well, if you need that for more realistic renders or portrayals of materials. It has a useful search engine to single out the objects that you need and some nifty tabs that categorize items by things like designers and brands.

Modlar is a website and company founded by architecture and construction industry professionals who know what the typical ArchiCAD drafter would be looking for in free objects online. The site specializes in objects that have something to do with commercial design and architecture.

Caroma is a distributor for different toilet and bathroom fixtures. The site works with brands such as Dorf and Clark. Their website has a comprehensive list of their offered products and also provides different 3D models and digital libraries of their wares.

They also showcase bigger but just as transient pieces such as booths. Martela.com does make it a point to categorize and list the types of products and objects they have, from fabric textures to specific furniture pieces.

NBS National BIM Library is the foremost resource when it comes to BIM objects and models in the UK, Australia, and Canada. The site follows the NBS Object Standard when it comes to the content and files that are showcased and distributed through the site.

There are thousands of manufacturer-specific and generic BIM models that are available to download. The NBS utilizes a workflow that makes use of plug-ins, making it easy to choose and preview the files available.

OpenGDL.org offers a collaborative way to work on GDL projects on their website. It encourages users to work on projects and personal BIM models. It organizes project developments with to-do lists and bug tracking lists for ease of use.

As ArchiCAD evolved over the years, its functionalities have improved and it can now handle more complex BIM and architectural models. However, making these models in ArchiCAD can be time-consuming and also expensive especially if you have to hire an expert to do it.

But, you do not have to worry about wasting time or breaking the bank to get the models since the websites in this article should be sufficient for getting any Free ArchiCAD Objects including ArchiCAD furniture models.

In addition, all the above-mentioned sites provide free downloads thus saving you from the hustle of having to pay architects to produce the models or paying to download the models. Also, a majority of the free ArchiCAD objects downloaded from these websites can be opened using various ArchiCAD alternatives.

In this course, you will learn how manage libraries in Archicad. You will learn how to search for library parts on the bimcomponents.com portal, import objects created in third-party applications, and create your own library parts and components from scratch.

Videos in this course have been created using the International language version of Archicad which means that the work environment and some of the content may be different if you are using a different language version.

Enrolling in this course will grant you access to the courses for 180 days starting at the day of enrollment. After the 180 days has passed, you will be deactivated from accessing the course content.

In this module, you will learn how to search for library parts on the bimcomponents.com portal and download them directly into your Archicad projects. Also, you will learn how to import RFA or SKP files.

If you were given the task of editing a library part that was written by another programmer, that didn't have comments but was easy to fix, then fix it and write the comments for every snippet (return to point 2). But if you find yourself entangled with a spaghetti code that didn't have comments and/or a report on this library part programming schema, ask your client if its possible to rewrite it from scratch, you will save time, effort and your sanity, and don't forget to write comments (return to point 2).

Until #ArchiCAD22, the GDL editor doesn't have the feature for automatic saving, so make sure that you save your progress in the library part, and on the hard disk. (PS: if you don't save ArchiCAD project file after saving your library part, it will be like you didn't save anything at all).

GDL programmers/scripters take ArchiCAD standard library as our point of reference for creating new library parts, but for those cases that there is no point of reference, make sure that you get feedback, cause users can find your library part as:
