Hi all,

I'm having trouble with installing dumbo; "ant package" keeps timing
out. I'm running behind a firewall and downloading ivy via ant keeps
running into trouble even after specifying a proper proxy (I checked
the proxy by running curl -v -x <ip:port>
http://repo2.maven.org/maven2/org/apache/ivy/ivy/2.0.0-rc2/ivy-2.0.0-rc2.jar
and it works)

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hey Nishant,

So presumably you're having problems building Hadoop after applying
the patches Dumbo requires?

One thing you could do is build Hadoop elsewhere, or alternatively you
could maybe use the Cloudera distribution (http://www.cloudera.com/hadoop
) packages which include most of the required patches.

Hope this helps,
-Klaas

Yup, I think I've gotten it figured out now.
Thanks, Klaas
