Ibought Acrobat Pro DC and it won't install on my computer. I just keep getting an error message that says "Acrobat installer encountered an unexpected failure. Please try again. If it continues to fail, contact Adobe support."

Same problem, brand new Lenovo laptop running Windows 10. The file downloads (via the Cloud nonsense), extracts, then gets an error during install. Unacceptable. May go with Nitro Pro if this is not fixed immediately.

Acrobat started misbehaving, wouldn't list the Cloud files (which are fine, I can see them in a browser and on iOS) so I uninstalled. Then the CC app failed to install, I tried cleaner, uninstalling from Windows CP but no dice. This is very frustrating. I'm already unhappy at how much BS Acrobat DC installs and runs at startup but now I can't even use it. This appears to be an ongoing problem, given this thread is six years old.

Not sure if this may help... Having same issues presented here. We have several different desktop types, and the proceeding helped with a couple desktops. Unfortunately, still having issues installing Acrobat on a HP 6200 Pro.

The link point to knowledge base dealing with registry entries that need to be deleted before I could install on the desktops that did work. Granted all machines using same windows version 10 v22H2. All 64bit windows, and really can;t find any other differences.

2023 here and this seems to be a problem for me. For years it worked fine and then one day it wouldn't open. I uninstalled but now it won't reinstall. I just get "Unable to install the product. Click Retry to download to install again (Error Cod:136). I select the error log and I have the following:

The cleaner is here: -docs/acrobatetk/tools/Labs/cleaner.html. Then, if you're on 64bit Windows, you can scroll down to the 64bit installer here: _DC2021.... I had issues downloading from Adobe.com. This is what worked for me. Go to www.adobe.com and sign in. Click on the app drawer under "Web Apps & Services" and install Creative Cloud. Open Creating Cloud and sign in if it doesn't log you in automatically. When in Creative Cloud, make sure you are in the "All apps" section and in the "Desktop" tab at the top of the window. You should see a list of apps located under "Available in your plan." Install Acrobat from there and Creative Cloud will download and install Adobe Acrobat for you. This is the Pro version and not Adobe Reader. It just does not say Pro.

I'm on Windows 10 and the free Adobe Reader DC won't install. The True Key pack has already been installed but the reader refuses to be installed! I've tried downloading the installer many times and I always get "Adobe Acrobat Reader DC did not install successfully." I have already updated Chrome. And none of the troubleshooting tips from Adobe has been useful.

Having some problem. Windows 10 giving error to effect some ...some pdf app is missing" so reinstalled Adobe Reader DC. When I uninstalled thru control center, Abode reader went away. When I installed from you page, it went thru install but failed - tried 3 more time not luck. Can find file "Abode" file under Program Files (86), but won't open. Says I don't have access. That file does not show on "Programs" thru control panel. Running Norton AV, but disabled during install.

The adobe acrobat Dc installer says "installation will begin shortly" but it does'nt start . I've tried re -downloading and installing for like 6-7 times and I have been wiating for the installation to start for like 24 hours now. Please HELP!.

I have a new lenovo yoga 3 pro - have de-installed nitro but cant install adobe acrobat reader. I can download the exe and run install but toward the end of the install it stops and says "a newer version of the software already installed" I have gone to appp folders and no software exists, I have checked instll/remove programs on control panel and cannot see it either? I am completely baffled, can you please assist?

Hi Kevan,

Please let me know the following:

1) Are you installing Adobe Acrobat Reader DC or Adobe Acrobat DC?

2) How are you installing this software? Creative Cloud or some other way?

3) Do you have any earlier version of Acrobat / Reader installed on the machine?

4) Please let me know the Digital signature entity of the following files:

msvcr120.dll and msvcp120.dll.("C:\Windows\System32" on 32 bit machines ; "C:\Windows\SysWOW64" on 64 bit machines) Are they signed by Microsoft of Lenovo?

Thanks,

Amish.

I am installing Adobe Acrobat DC. I have tried installing every way, by download and firing the set up executable, and through creative cloud but it all fails. I have de-installled adobe 11, used the removal tool from adobe, cleaned all the temp files and it still fails everytime. I have also upgraded to windows 8.1 pro, installed all the MSI file upgrades too.

On your question 4 I am running a 64 bit machine but how do I locate those files and find their 'digital signatures'?thanks Kevan
