Hi everyone!

I hope this thread will be a resource for volunteer opportunities on
campus. Feel free to post anything you do find :)

There is one awesome opportunity coming up!

Here is a message forwarded to me from WPIRG:

Hello friends of the UW Farm Market:

It is that time of year again when our delicious, seasonal, local
market is
coming back on campus! Would you like to help bring local food to
campus? Do
you value food localism? Would you like to help out with this campus
imitative?

In order to run a successful market, we rely on our volunteers to help
with
the work! UW Food Services does the buying and short distance hauling,
and
volunteers do the rest..including setting up the market, putting out
fresh
fruits and veggies, helping customers, cashier work, tearing down and
cleaning up!

I am holding three new volunteer meetings next week - hopefully you
can
attend one! If you know anyone who would be interested, pass along
this
message!

Volunteer meetings:
Tuesday, June 7 from 11am to 12pm at ENV Courtyard,
Or Tuesday, June 7 from 1:30pm to 2:30pm at the Student Life Centre,
on the
second floor room # 2143,
Or Wednesday, June 8 from 1:30pm to 2:30pm at the ENV Courtyard.

Markets run from 9am to 1pm at the ENV Courtyard. Volunteer shifts
start at
7am and run until 2pm.
Dates for the market are:
Thursdays, June 23,
July 7,
July 14,
July 21.

The Volunteer shifts run anytime from 7am to 2pm. If you have any
spare time
and would like to help out, please come to our meeting.

If you are unable to attend the meeting but would like to volunteer
please
send an email to famm...@uwaterlo.ca.

Even if you can't volunteer, you can help us spread the news about
this
wonderful initiative and support the market by purchasing fresh
fruits,
veggies, yummy baked goods and preserves.

I look forward to a bountiful spring market and working with the
coolest
volunteers ever!!

Thanks...and remember to keep it local!
