LysAye, and all the other matters, too, have been thrown into confusion. For in order that Pisander might be able to steal, and those who aim at offices, they were always stirring up some commotion. Therefore let them do whatever they please, for that matter! for they shall no longer take out this money.

The sting of the comedy comes in the penetrating arguments Lysistrata and the other women express and the cleverness of their strategy to bring their endlessly warring husbands to the peace table. Lysistrata argues that the women are tired of seeing their husbands make mistake after mistake, the wealth of the city wasted in war and destruction, and the loss of lives of their sons and husbands. They also reject the very reasons for going to war in the first place, with Lysistrata claiming that at least one man saw it as an opportunity to steal from the public purse, and others to seek government jobs and positions. The women decide to take matters into their own hands by seizing control of the treasury of Athens (money was kept in the Acropolis like it was a bank) so the men cannot spend it on making war, and they go on strike by withholding sexual favors until the men agree to sue for peace. It is also interesting to see Aristophanes also show quite clearly the amount of physical abuse women at they time had to endure, especially when they challenged the authority of their husbands.

Zoo, who was born Derik Zooashkiyani, has been taking his stand-up comedy act on the road and performing for clubs, colleges, and corporate events around the country. Atlanta, St. Louis, Indianapolis, Ohio, Oklahoma, Texas, Florida, Alabama, and Tennessee have all been entertained by the guy that once was the class clown at White County High School.

Zoo and three of his colleagues will be entertaining in his hometown this week. Cortney Warner and Satyam Nayak from Nashville, along with Danny Whitson from Oak Ridge, will be opening the show at Happy Trails Brewing Company before Zoo takes the stage as the headliner.

SPARTA -- Morgan, The Escapist, will bring her unique and inspiring theatrical performance, "Houdini in Heels," to the Sparta Avenue Stage for one performance only on Saturday at 8 p.m. Tickets are $15 and available at www.spartastage.com or 973-769-2893.

Morgan covers the gamut of Houdini-esque challenges in her own unmistakable style. The audience will experience the art of escape in a totally immersive and theatrical manner as they become an important, interactive, part of the show.

Morgan is called "The Quintessential Liberated Woman" and she will prove it with handcuff challenges, rope ties and even an attempt to escape from a straitjacket. Mystery, intrigue, danger and a touch of magic create a thrilling show for the whole family.

Dorothy Dietrich, one of the most famous female magicians and escape artists, inspired Morgan to become a magician while she was still a child. Morgan was so impressed by Dietrich's televised performances, like sawing a man in half and escaping from a straitjacket while suspended, that she decided she'd follow in Dorothy's footsteps.

Since answering a newspaper ad for performers she has been involved in magic -- first performing with touring magic and production shows and later as an assistant to professional illusionist John Bundy in his long-running and successful "Spooktacular" and "Skullduggery" shows.

While working with John Bundy Productions, Morgan developed her own escape act. For three years in succession, she was invited to star in the annual Hong Kong Magic Festival and she received the award for "Best Female Escape Artist" at the World Magic Awards: she performed the "Table of Death" on national network television. Morgan is also credited as a contributor to the book "The Escape Biz: Volume 2" by Steve Baker and Dean Carnegie and continues to work with Bundy, performing and inventing new magical show experiences.

Sunday, April 17, features comedy with two performances by stand-up comic, ventriloquist and magician John Pizzi. Pizzi appeared on "America's Got Talent" season 7 and made it through to the Vegas Round. After watching Pizzi's act, which combined the judges faces with ventriloquism, judge Howard Stern said: "You're an original and I love that about you. It's wonderful, you're funny."

Pizzi has headlined at the nation's best comedy clubs -- New York City's renowned Caroline's, Dangerfield's and the Laugh Factory, Atlantic City's Borgata Hotel and Las Vegas' l Riviera Hotel, to mention a few. In addition, he has been invited to participate in the Las Vegas Comedy Festival, the World Series of Comedy.

Pizzi will offer an adults-only comedy show at 7 p.m. He uses his ventriloquism and puppets for an irreverent evening performance hosted by local comedienne Melissa Allan. His comedy is in the vein of Don Rickles -- a very politically incorrect comedy so it is advised to bring your thick skin.
