to Duhaney-Reid Family Connected
Our family name is the tip of the Iceberg in revealing who we are
and how we fit into the framework of humanity. The generations
before us who shaped our lives both directly and indirectly.
We sometimes wonder where we come from and what our name
mean and where it originated and why the people who share our
name chose to leave their homelands and the obstacles they faced
on their journeys to a new home. Their journeys and destinies
ultimately helped shape and define our family life today.
What was the psychological toll and courage it took to leave
all that was familiar to start a new life.
The Dehaney Family came from Ireland to the United States of American
as early as in the 1800 but its also possible that the Dehaney Family
from Ireland could have come from another country settled in Ireland
then come to the United States of America/Canada and Jamaica.
There is magic in discovering more about who we are and the tales
of those people who lived before us.
As humans, we witness, collect, and record information
as best we can our information can be only as accurate
as the people who recorded it; " to err is human, to
forgive divine. Family name sometimes evolved over
time and some families change there name for various
reasons. Remember always that sometimes the sounding
of a name is how people will spell the name just a
mis-stroke of a pen can make a difference.
However, the Duhaney, Dehaney,Dahaney and
any sort of variations within this sound of the
name is still the same bloodline of the family.
"History cannot give us a program for the future, but it can give
us a fuller understanding of ourselves, and of our common
humanity, so we can better face the future."
We ask questions so later when our children and grandchildren
ask who am i? we have answers to share.
