The purpose is for us to enhance our ability to live as community members.

Since this is a way for neighbours to get to know one another better, we do not allow anonymous members. We represent a large number of people.

Please be sure to sign every single message to the group with your real name and your email address so that people can respond to you directly. In certain cases, that is preferable.

The topic is…
Dufferin Grove Park and area is where we focus our most (but not all) of our attention.
Every once in a while something comes up that we want to share with the group. Constructive reports, suggestions and criticisms are accepted, interesting resources or other city happenings are worth letting our friends here know about. General complaining and unsupported assertions are not.

Now that we have your attention:
There are a lot of happenings in the city that get little or no exposure in the mainstream avenues, be selective, but if you feel strongly that our group should know about something, send out a message.

It would be unwieldy and impractical to have too many notices. If someone has some news, we want celebrate as a group and be supportive, especially if that is what is needed.

Please edit political commentaries out of messages to this group.

There are other places where political discussions are encouraged and more welcome.

Before you send it, please consider whether it should really be directed to one person or the entire group.

Play nice, kids:
Obviously, no abusive, offensive, or demeaning language. Participation should be constructive not disruptive or mean.

Absolutely no flaming, profanity, discriminatory remarks or rudeness will be tolerated here. Avoid gossip. Please exercise diplomacy, tact, thoughtfulness, self-restraint and respect for other's point of view. It's possible to disagree without being disagreeable. Facts must be verifiable, and referenced.

Remember that online communication always tends to exaggerate feelings. Please be tolerant and kind so that getting along is easier and more pleasurable.

Moderators reserve the right to discontinue memberships and delete messages as they feel appropriate. Do your very best to be well informed, be well reasoned, be constructive, be polite.
