So, Jungs,
morgen in einer Woche, also am Samstag, 23. August, steht unser Miniturnier mit den Jungs vom Edinburgh Northern RFC und denen vom RC Aachen und uns auf dem Plan.
Hier der Ablauf für das Miniturnier:
- 14:00 Captains’ Meeting
- 15:00 Kick-off First Match
- 17:00 Awards
- 17:30 Banquet mit Spanferkel und Kölsch
Es wird mit 15, 12 oder 10 Leuten gespielt, je nachdem, wie viele Spieler auflaufen können.
Die Spieldauer pro Spiel beträgt zweimal 15 Minuten.
Jedes Team wird zwei Spiele bestreiten, also jeder gegen jeden.
Bisher haben sich 17 Leute von uns als Spieler in die WhatsApp-Umfrage eingetragen. Chris wird auch spielen (kein WhatsApp). Da geht aber gerne noch mehr, denke ich. Und es dürfen selbstverständlich auch noch mehr Supporter dabei sein. Bisher stehen Ralf, Jan B. und Dieter in der Liste, Alex wird auch dabei sein.

Ein paar Sachen sind natürlich noch im Vorfeld zu erledigen:
- Gaffel-Kölsch aus dem Keller im Clubhaus in den großen Kühlschrank räumen (soll vor und/oder nach dem Einsteigertraining am Montag gemacht werden)
- Abkreiden (soll am nächsten Donnerstag vor dem Training gemacht werden, ab 17:45)
- Tische fürs Banquet aufbauen, Geschirr und Besteck bereitstellen etc. (am Spieltag ab 12:30)
Schiris werden übrigens Jan B. und Alex sein.
Dresscodemäßig sollten wir unsere roten Polos anziehen.
Vielleicht verrät mir der Team Manager Dougal ja noch, wo die Jungs in Düsseldorf unterkommen und wo sie Freitagabend in der für uns verbotenen Stadt ausgehen werden. Dann könnten wir mit ein paar Mann dazustoßen.

Hi Dougal,
The countdown is on! On Saturday, 23 August 2025, we’ll meet at Kölner Rugby Park for some rugby, laughs, and maybe a pint or two afterwards.
We’ll have three teams battling it out: our friends from Edinburgh Northern RFC, the lads from RC Aachen, and of course RSV Köln.
Here’s what’s happening:
- 14:00 – Captains’ Meeting
- 15:00 – First match kicks off
- 17:00 – Awards & bragging rights handed out
- 17:30 – Banquet & beers (the real competition begins …)
Golden Oldies rules are in play. Numbers on the field may vary (15, 12 or 10), depending on how many make it out of bed in the morning. Each match: two halves, 15 minutes each. Each team: two matches. Everyone plays everyone.
Bring your kit and your banter – we’ll provide the laughs and the cold beer!

Ha! We thought there was some rivalry between the two cities!
Team format sounds good and as you say, we can decide on the day. Happy to be flexible.
Harris is breathtaking; especially the white sands! I hope you had a great time and the weather was favourable.

There are presently 17 of us coming on tour, with a couple more perhaps yet to join. Not all are players and so would it be possible to opt for a 10-a-side match format?
We have plans for the Friday night as we are staying in Dusseldorf, but thank you for the recommendation.

accommodation might be a problem. I was just wondering why hotels are so expensive. Over the weekend on which you're planning to visit us there will be a pretty big event. Gamescom.
MEININGER Hotel Köln West is rather affordable, but not in the prettiest location.
Not really sure how to resolve this.
