If you're looking for a great followup to The Book Thief, I just heard
a fabulous review of The Zookeeper's Wife by Diane Ackerman. The book
is a true account of a family who ran the Warsaw City Zoo and managed
to hide 300 Jewish men, women and children within its walls throughout
the war.
The story sounds very powerful and resonant and would be a great Book
Thief chaser.
