The formula 1 Duathlon consists of a run, cycle, run, cycle, run. So three runs and two cycles, not forgetting four transitions. With so many of the races coming down to seconds this summer, it maybe seconds gained in those four transitions that prove critical. The current leaders of the series are Catherine Devitt with four wins and Niall Somers with two wins and a 3rd place. Catherine's place as the Duathlon Series winner is assured, however, Niall could be under threat from Kevin Keane, who would need to win next Wednesday to overtake Niall. Laura Keane is another competitor would could move up onto the podium with a good result next Wednesday.
The lovely people from ABAT Sports Injury Clinic will again be providing massage for all the Duathletes on the night so make sure you factor in a quick massage when you’re done racing.
Note that if you enter for the race from Tuesday morning you will have to sign-on on the race evening (6-6:45pm) in the Phoenix Park and you will have to queue. Enter online before Tuesday morning and you can sign-on in Runways and you won’t have to queue on race night. There will be entries on the night at the higher price of €20.
See you at the start line,
Holly
