Hi Guy's,

I'm arriving in August and was wondering if you still met up? I'm a
keen MTB rider who is looking for good riding spot in the UAE and
would like to team up with other riders to introduce me to the local
trials.

Hey Chris

Unfortuantly many riders have fallen away so we don't meet up anymore.
I still do the odd MTB ride but spend most of my time as a roadie
lately. It's a lot more convenient to do than the fun stuff.

Follow the following link below to join the local cycling group and
from there look for the Hot Cog Cycle Group. These guys are serious so
don't join them unless you are a keen MTB'er as well. Anyway, you will
find the cycling group helpfull.

Let's put it this way - I use to race motorbikes and will not ride one
in the city here. Harley Davidson has a club that go out on Friday
morning's and we often see them when are out on our group cycle ride
(Dubai Roadsters). Off roading is very popular in the desert, but quad
bikes seems to be more popular. I'm a 2 wheel guy, 4 wheels belong on
a car and have no place anywhere near a motorbike.

Thanks for the info, I thought that may be the case - on my previous visits I noticed how my adrenaline went up every time I sat in a taxi and seeing how a lot of people don't even indicate!
I agree with you on the Quad side, but are there many that take MotoX bikes out to the more rockier area's and wadi's?...more of a an important question though - can you watch the MotoGP or WSB on television or satelite?

Once again thanks for your help!

There are certain satelite channels that you can subscribe to for more
sports coverage. I normally just catch highlights. Last year i watched
Tour de France highlights on Italian channel which drove the missus in
sane.

You need to check out Dubai One magazine or talk to the guys as the
bike shop to see who has organised rides. That's basically how the
cylcing thing works out. We all support Wolfi's Bike Shop and we all
ride together.
