I am a fan of Cambodia, it's been a crazy adventure here. Today has been a REALLY fun day, but I'll leave that to the end of this update. Yesterday was a bit more serious.

Yesterday, as part of our orientation, we went to two places. A High school, that was converted into a Prison, and the Killing Fields. For those of you that don't know in 1970-1971 there was this thing called the Khmer Rouge. Where this guy named Pul Pot (I think that's how it is spelled), decided to 'cleanse' Cambodia. He created two class groups, the workers and the elites, he decided that anyone in between would be killed. He was South East Asia's Hitler. He created places and torture techniques for all of those that did not agree with him, and for those who were schooled. Really anyone that could have stood against him was killed. They brutally killed MANY people and it is a very sad thing. They used the Killing Fields as a place where they dug holes in the ground, not very deep ones, to put bodies in -- mass graves. They did many horrible things to the people and the bodies that I will not go into.

The thing is, is that Cambodian culture today is very much effected by the Rouge. The people in power today where those who were affiliated with the Rouge back then, which is apparent because of how corrupt the government is here. It is really a very sad thing. The hope of Cambodia is in the Youth. The older people here are too hard because of the old times, which makes sense.

AND yesterday I was crazy sick so please be praying for my health, it is the common flu stuff that I had in Kona. Pray that it goes away and that my immune system would be strengthened so that I am able to fight off the other sicknesses here.

TODAY! Oh man it's been a really cool day. We got the chance to have our own Amazing Race today. Our teams were broken down into smaller groups and we have been given different objectives to do around Phenom Penh, we have to travel by Moto Dopes (the moto drivers). It's been really cool so far, this has been one of our stops.... Internet. We've driven all of the city, we've stopped at markets, I've bought all the clothes that I'll need for ministry, bought a few movies, a backpack and what not for REALLY cheap. That's been cool. So after we leave here I'll be going to a few other things on our list. I hope that I'll be able to post some pictures later... I can't right now because my cable is too far away. Sad thing huh?

Well I love you guys and I am so happy that you are reading this and praying and loving on me from a far. Love ya'll! :o)

Prayer Points:
  • Health -- that I would be completely made better. That my team would be healed of their sicknesses too.
  • Spiritually -- That we'd all be listening to God for what he wants our team to do. We are in preparation mode and we will leave for Battdambang on the 4th.
  • Safety -- During our Moto Dope travels here, and for safe travel to Battdambang when we go. (I don't know when I'll be able to post next.)
  • Clarity -- That I'd be able to hear God clearly for what he wants me to do in me, through me, and around me.

THANKS!
