free stuff. The first is a little harder to answer. By EC I mean
Emergent/Emerging Church. (I know, I know, two different things but
lumped together for this doo-dad) The test is where you stand and how
you will address the EC movement in your ministries, both present and
future. On April 10th following chapel we are hosting a brownbag in
Todd. We have three things we want to accomplish. First, we want to
give you some free stuff. (details in a minute) Second, we want to
dialog about the EC movement and how it is affecting youth ministry.
Third, b/c it is centered on youth ministry, naturally we want to feed
you lunch. (hold your horses, details in a minute! )
Charley Hellmuth, Senior High Pastor at Irving Bible Church, will join
us to facilitate our dialog because he is leading a great example of
an EC youth ministry locally. Which, by the way, is an oddity in DFW
b/c most youth ministries are fairly traditional. This will be an
open discussion and we would love your input.
Now for the nitty gritty. Free stuff and lunch. Colby, in the
bookstore has obtained lots of music and other goodies in the way of
resources, (books, software, etc...) and we are giving it away. The
first 45 people to sign up by email ( pipe...@dts.edu ) will get a
free CD and be entered for the other prizes. Also, to ensure we have
enough lunch for everyone please sign up via an email. (Just one email
per person is required, if you don't want to eat, or if you don't want
any of the resources please indicate it in your email.)
We hope to see you there, we would light a candle for you but DTS does
have a burn policy....
