Hey, we got a new member!  So far it had just been me and my fiancée, but now we've got a third member.  I figure this could be a place for introductions.

I'm Dexter345 aka Darren Nakamura.  My fiancée and I are currently living in Mesa, but we're not necessarily out here permanently.  I'm a pretty big fan of rhythm games (I'm looking forward to getting a new place and unpacking my Rock Band stuff), first-person shooters, and puzzle games.  Outside of electronics, we both enjoy board games, so hopefully we can get some of those going some time.  As of right now, I don't think we'll be having people over for any parties or get-togethers until we get our own place, but know that stuff is going to happen in the future.  Totally!

Hey Fellas,

My name is Chad Valente, and also sometimes Meanderbot. I've lived
here in the terribly sunny Tempe all my life. I've been playing (or
at least interested in) video games for nearly that long. I'd say
that my favored types of games are platformers, RPGs, and 1st/3rd
person shooters, though I'll play nearly anything except sim sports/
racing games. I'm especially interested in older games and am
perpetually locked in a struggle to play everything. Other then video
games, I'm interested in photography (which I am going to school for),
drawing, skateboarding and spending entirely too much time on the
internet. Looking forward to getting something going on here.

I used to skateboard, back in my younger days.  I wasn't any good, but it was fun anyway.

Hello All,

My name is Jon Eder aka Primo. I've also lived in Arizona my whole
life, and currently reside in a studio in downtown Phoenix. I play
pretty much anything but my favorites are platformers and sports
games. Currently playing a lot of Red Dead Redemption and FIFA. I also
bring out the Sega Genesis every once in a while to play old school
games (Sonic, Road Rash, Toe Jam and Earl etc.. I have a lot). Besides
videogames, I like to play soccer and basketball and work on artwork.
I am also on the internet way too much, since I sit behind a computer
all day at an office job. I'm definitely excited to see if we can ever
get anything goin on!

Yeah, I don't do much of it these days, just enough so I don't forget
anything. But going to skateparks with friends were some of the
highlights of high school.

Oh man, we definitely need to get some Road Rash happening. That
would be awesome. What kind of art do you do?

Hay!
So I forgot to do this while on vaction in New Jersey.
My name is Amanda, aka Nectar via Dtoid. I like cute things because
they made me love video games - yoshi, okami, pikachu, chocobos, you
get it. I'm 18 and I moved to Phoenix when I was 12 or so. I play any
video game but I can't guarentee that I'll be decent at it, but I'll
laugh anyway and demand that you Phoenix Down me or kill all of the
enemies and spam tap circle. (FF and Scott Pilgrim yeah!) Besides
gaming, I know 6 languages, I graduated high school in May, but due to
family issues I'm not currently in school, I'm editing reviews and
managing the community at http://www.couchathletics.com/trying to get
back to Jersey. I like to partay, and we should all definitely have a
NARP soon!

Trying to go back to Jersey?  Ridiculous.

As far as NARPing goes, Lib and I will probably be the first to throw one, but it's still a ways off, because we need to get our own place first.  If anybody else does want to invite strangers into his/her home though, feel free to put something on!

Yeah great thanks for that, ruined my lurking :-P

Anywho my name's Mike aka P3T3Y, I'm in the north Scottsdale area and
like to game: video, board, role-play you name it. I do own a copy of
Arkham Horror (which Dex had a chance to play with Conrad and myself
when we met) and if you like the works of HP Lovecraft or insanely
complicated co-op board games where you're trying thwart horrors from
beyond the stars, then maybe we can have a get-together and throw
down. However my schedule as of late is extremely prohibitive so it's
hard to arrange anything: I work Wed thru Sunday, and currently I have
class on Monday nights so Sunday night is really the only time I can
get out. I am on XBL frequently and have been having a hankering to
run through some Castle Crashers.

Greetings and Salutations!

:D
(A happy intro is the best kind of intro, rite? :o)

I'd like to give my thanks for allowing me to join an uber gaming
community! I've remained vigilant in my search for fellow gamers that
reside in my area throughout the years... Which I now have Destructoid
to thank for the opportunity to meet other gamers.

I am AuronX aka Germain Zepeda.

I'm aware most users could investigate my origins and/or info through
my profile, but for the sake of simplicity I believe its best I re-
post here to centralize all the info in one location, so my apologies
if this seems a tad redundant
for those that have already taken it upon themselves to read my
profile.

To answer your question Mr. Dexter, I reside in Central Phoenix :D
(Not East) but travel is of no obstacle to me. (Considering that I
have friends who live as far out as Casa Grande, or Bell Road.)

So... onto a 'little' about me.

*Exhales, Life Story Imminent!*

I consider myself to be a well-rounded gamer. (Um... not physically
though :o)
Since the age of 6 I've been involved in the video game scene, my
beginnings being on the Nintendo and Sega Genesis consoles but my
gaming repertoire continued to expand well into the future as newer
systems were released into the market.
As of the 2004, I've been predominately involved with PC gaming
although I still continue to play nearly every console although
unfortunately I do not have a X360 in my possession at this time.
I've been a Destructoid fan since 2008, but have just recently become
a bit more involved in the activities and discussions. I hope this
remains consistent, if not becoming more prevalent in the future
considering this is a Dtoid Community :D

From a young age, I've been a nite owl of sorts... and that tendency
has persisted throughout the years... well into my career decisions.
With that said, my work schedule consist of 12 hour night shifts,
Sunday-Tuesday every other Wednesday.
(Which means unfortunately from what I've read thus far, I will not
have the honor to get my game on with Mr. P3T3Y unless any schedule
changes happen anytime soon D: )

When I'm not hiking the Arizona mountains (Usually South Mountain)
doing yard work, or sleeping I'm engrossed in gaming. I predominately
reside within the confines of Steam where I can be reached at more
often than not. (I shall post a list of of my Username/Aliases down
below for those that are interested adding me.)
As I've previously mentioned, I consider myself to be a jack-of-all-
trades gamer, for example I own the following systems; PSP, DS,
Gameboy Advance, Nintendo/SNES/Nintendo 64/Gamecube/ Wii, Playstation
1 & 2 & 3, Sega Genesis, Dreamcast, and last but certainly not least
my computer.
I favor multiple genre's but surprisingly I tend to shy away from the
mainstream games, for instance I favor Tekken for my fighting
preference over Street Fighter. I participate in Battlefield Bad
Company 2 (PC) rather than Call of Duty. Or getting involved Aion/
Guild Wars/Final Fantasy XIV rather than World of Warcraft.

The following is a small list of genre's and their respective games I
associate with:

RPG - Final Fantasy!! :D (I am a major Final Final Fanatic) Dragon
Age, Trine, Torchlight, Demon Souls, Mass Effect.

MMORPG- Aion, Guild Wars, Final Fantasy 11 & 14, World of Warcraft
(Formerly) and.. last but not least, Diablo & Diablo 2 & LOD. I'm a
major fan of the series and the lore.

FPS - Planetside (Anyone remember this game? Its still one of my all
time favorites. I'm one of the many individuals awaiting a sequel)
Bioshock, Counterstrike, Portal, Half - Life (The entire series),
Borderlands, Left 4 Dead 1 & 2, Crysis, Battlefield Bad Company 1 & 2,
the latter being my favorite.

Consoles - Darksiders, Dante's Inferno, Legend of Zelda (Entire
Series) Metal Gear, God of War and Kingdom Hearts (Major fan of those
games) Castlevania Lord of Shadows.
RTS - Supreme Commander 1 & 2 (Personally I find 1 still to be
superior than its successor) Command and Conquer (Entire series...
except I'm not overly fond of the 4th Installment) Red Alert (Entire
Series) and of course, my favorite of them all being Starcraft 1 &
2.

As mentioned above, this is -small- list (mostly composed of personal
favorites) that I can be found playing.
I'd also like to note that I am willing to play any and all games but
I make no promises that I'll remain playing if said games are not to
my liking.

I also happen to be amongst the few individuals who listens to video
game soundtrack music. (The best kind of music :D)

Another random tidbit I'd like to throw out there is that I am also a
computer builder (I built my current gaming rig from scratch.)

I also enjoy reading manga as well J.K. Tolkien, Frank Herbert, Garth
Nix, Stephen King and watching anime (Some favorites including Bleach,
Naruto, Full Metal Alchemist/Brotherhood, Death Note, Darker than
Black, Cowboy Bebop, Trinity Blood, Trigun etc) and I am pretty
knowledgeable in most T.V. shows.. like Supernatural, Bones, Castle
(Firefly and its cast are my all time favorite actors)

My apologies for such an arduous, drawn out intro (Its best to reveal
sooner than later that I am a bit of a novelist when it comes to
writing) but I applaud your tenacity if you remained throughout the
entire discussion...
I also hope you'll forgive the delay in presenting my introduction, I
was pulled away prematurely as I was concocting my "novel" to partake
in some sushi with some friends. (I nom the Sushi)

There's much more to me, which I implore you to discover on your own..
feel free to shoot me a message anytime. Thank you for investing time
in reading my intro and I hope to get some game/social time with you
all.

capable but for simplicity sake I will list a few, inquire if you'd
like to know the others)

Hi Guys and Girls,

Just saw the post on Dtoid and was surprised to find a Phoenix Group.
Thought I would sign up.

So a little about me, My name is Paul Morgan. I am from Ireland, just
north of Belfast. I moved to sunny az in 2003 living in south Tempe
now. I love gaming, I play an hour a day at something. If you opened
up my gaming units, you would find morrowwind in the 360, majin and
the forsaken kingdom in the ps3 and 30 minute hero in my psp. On my pc
I am playing a browser based mmo called mightandmagicheroeskingdoms, I
am also playing an email war strategy game called kaomaris. In reading
this you might not have guessed I am a big time FPS player. Played
them all, but Battlefield BC2 and MAG are the two I play the most.

Outside of gaming, I love football(soccer to you lot) with Celtic FC
being my first love. Also a big fan of Notre Dame, surprisingly
enough. Don't play many sports anymore cause of an injury, would love
to though.

mojie55 is my handle for ps3 and xbox360, shoot me a message if you
want.

Welcome to the group, Paul.  As I tell all of our new recruits, we totally intend to actually do something some time (I swear!).  Long story short, I don't have the means to hold an event at the moment, and it's taking significantly longer to get to that point than I expected.  But if anybody wants to have random strangers over to his/her place for a night of eating, drinking, and gaming, let us know in this emailer.  Otherwise, keep sitting tight and things will happen eventually.  Promise.

Yeah, I got FIFA 11 for Christmas! So I've been playing it a lot
recently. I've been a huge EPL fan in the past (used to follow Fulham
pretty closely) but since I don't have Fox Soccer Channel anymore, I

Yeah, I read your post a day or two after you wrote it, but I didn't
reply immediately. And then I promptly forgot about it for four
weeks :/ I guess I chose a pretty appropriate time to respond,
considering all the activity.

@ Jayson Peters, mojie55, other new people

Welcome! Let's play some games!

@ Amanda Masdeu

My father used to take me skiing in Sunrise years ago, but I haven't
been in a long, long time. I'd be down for a trip, but I don't think
it's going to happen this year.

@ Dexter345

You know, the Gameworks idea might not be that bad. I live like 2-3
miles away from there, so maybe after everyone spends their money (10
minutes) we could migrate to my house, despite my hesitations of
hosting. Hopefully by that point I'll be too drunk to care.

Hola fellow gamer dudes and chix,

My info -
Facebook - Nick Roen
DTOID: TheJesusNinja26
XBOXLID - thejesusninja
PSNID - DrNinja
WiiCode - 0212-4673--4807-0394

I'm so glad this group has come to fruition. Kudos to the organizers,
thank you. Maybe we can get a group on Facebook as well, it can
sometimes be easier to organize and invite on there. Just an idea.

Games I'm currently playing:
- Gran Turismo 5
- Gameparty in motion (Kinect)
- Fallout New Vegas
- Fable III

Here is a little bit about me...
I grew up on NES, SNES, and N64. Then took a break from gaming for a
few years to party and be in a band in high school and college. Then
once I was out of college I picked up a PS2 and started playing again.
A few years later I picked up a XBOX 360, then a Wii, and finally a
PS3 then an old modded XBOX that plays NES, SNES, Genesis & N64 games.
I don't play PC games. I buy all multi-platform games on the 360.

Let's get personal...
I was an atheist for the first 21 years of my life, then God showed
me He was real in an extremely powerful way that I just couldn't deny
no matter how much I wanted to ignore it. I then spent a few years
doing youth ministry and traveling North America sharing the Gospel.
After that I was a Spanish teacher in private and public schools. I
then became a sales/product trainer for Best Buy, later Toshiba, and
HP. I am now a trainer for PayPal's customer service and Spanish
customer service departments. I am married with 3 fantastic sons. I am
a musician; I have played drums for a little over 14 years. And dabble
in a little classical guitar.

I am a very passionate person. I love my sports teams; RedSox, AZ
Cardinals, and PHX SUNS. I enjoy a great beer preferably a Pale Ale or
IPA. MOAR HOPS! I'm always down for an intelligent discussion; The
more profound the better. In my opinion Gamers get a bad rep, because
of a large percentage of gamers are immature tools, who lack couth.
I'm in no way a violent, blood-lust filled person, like those you
hear on Xbox Live or PSN spouting of racial slurs or obscenities. I
just grew up on games and they've stuck with me.

My favorites

Bands:
U2, Beck, Blindside, Jimi Hendrix, old Metallica, Steely Dan, Outkast,
Wu-Tang Clan, Mason Jennings.

Movies:
1. Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory

Greetings and Salutations, Mr Roen! Pleasure to make your acquaintance
and welcome to the group :D (I was wondering why I had an invite from
a Nick Roen on Facebook)

I'd like to first give you props for you're lengthy introduction.
("Novel" forum posts FTW :D! I quite fancy a good read)

Nothing better than intellectual discussions with a side of gaming....

Unfortunately due to time constraints, I must take my leave so that
way I receive plenty of rest for my night shift tonight. Perhaps
we'll get a chance to talk in the future.

Hi, my name's Nelson, I'm 26, a Scorpio, and I enjoy long walks on the
beach and gazing wistfully at the stars.

...Really, I don't know what to say. I've been on Destructoid for a
few years now, and I'm a ten-year vet over at GameFAQs. As far as the
real world goes, I used to attend DeVry University for Game &
Simulation Programming, and was fortunate enough to meet with Earnest
Adams, founder of the IGDA. I still admit that I'm far better at
design than I am at programming, but I have my moments.

I'm a fan of high-difficulty video games, like Ikaruga, Super Meat
Boy, Ninja Gaiden, and the like. I'm only a decent Brawl player, but I
know I will stomp you in Melee with my DocMar. I also play Pokemon,
though I haven't picked up White yet. I don't play too many shooting
games - or at least, not CoD-type shooters.

I can be found on XBL as Olikrom or Bacon Laser. Feel free to look me
up sometime!

Please, my Peach and/or Ice Climbers could rock your Doctor Mario.

...It's been awhile since I've been able to lay down any SSBM trash talk.  I'm probably not actually any good at it any more.

Oh no. I suppose that means that I should introduce myself. I am
most likely older than all you whipper snappers.

I like to say that I can sum up my geekdom in one sentence. "My
Gamertag is named after a Dungeons & Drasgons character."

My first home gaming system was a dedicated Pong machine, followed by
the Atari VCS (a.k.a. Atari 2600). After that I had a ColecoVision.
This is going to take too long, so I'll summarize: Apple II+, TI
99-4A, Coleco Adam, NES, Sega Genesis, Sega Master System, SNES,
Commodore Amiga, TurboGrafx-16, Playstation, Gameboy Advance, Gameboy
Advance SP, Nintendo 64, Sega Dreamcast, PS2, GameCube, Xbox, Gameboy
Micro, Xbox 360, Nintendo DS, DS Lite, PSP, PS3, Wii, 3DS, iPod Touch,
and various PCs. I probably forgot something. I still have
everything after (and including) the Nintendo 64.

I've played a few games. The last few I have played are Terraria,
L.A. Noire, Mortal Kombat, Crysis 2, Portal 2, Dragon Age 2, and
Minecraft.

Outside of traditional nerd pursuits, I am into cars, photography,
kung fu, and SCUBA diving. Professionally, I program in assembly
language for a well-known company.

Better an older, more experienced person than some punkass kid who
can't appreciate anything pre-PS2. Welcome to the group! I myself am
quite the photography nerd. I'm also actually certified to dive, but
that happened when I was in middle school and the only time I've done
so was my qualifying dive in Puerto Penasco, which was far from
enjoyable.

Got a new member!  This one is from my old stomping ground in Ahwatukee.

Also worth noting: Lib and I live in a house now!  We should have people over some time after we have unpacked.
