Pierre,

We finally got this to the table yesterday. It was a group effort with printing, laminating, etc, but it's turned out great. Thanks for making this awesome game!

That said, we do have a couple of questions and suggestions and would love some feedback:

  1. Why are "5E" trains mentioned in the rulebook, but do not exist in the game? We assumed that these have since been changed into "12H" trains and treated them as such. Is this correct and just an oversight on not removing that part from the rulebook?
  2. For the West Point Foundry private company, it reads that there is a max discount of up to 50% to a max of $200. We assumed that this is to limit its effectiveness for buying a $600 12H, yes?
  3. The "Boston & Albany" station markers should, we think, not be white in color. This makes it harder to distinguish from the minor companies.
  4. Going with #3 above, ideally, the station charter locations on the map itself should mimic both in color and font, those found on the company charter. Everything is white and, again, makes it more difficult to distinguish, at a glance, where they are. Granted, with frequent plays, this becomes a non-issue, but we think that it would be helpful, nonetheless.
  5. The Buffalo location on the map is missing the "$20" marking on the printed hex, on the map.

With all the above said, they are minor things and we absolutely loved the game. Thanks again for allowing us to give it a try and we plan on playing it again tomorrow! :)

Hopefully the feedback helps and is construed as helpful and nothing more. :)

Regards,

Edward

No. 5E trains were added to the mix after the last set of components were posted. From the posted train mix you should remove one 12H and add two (hand-made) 5E.

Yes, this is correct. It can contribute $200 towards buying the 12H.

Personally I agree with you. :)

There are a couple of other minor map changes to be made, there should be an updates PDF in the file folder. The boundary between two of the Pennslvania offboards has been changed, and the BA and NYNHH starting stations have been made into pass-throughs rather than termini.

My group has had 7 or 8 playthroughs so far, we were the ones that pushed for the addition of something between the 12H and D. We're liking it a lot, too, but strategy wrt the NYC formation is still evolving.
