You cannot run away from a weakness;
you must sometimes fight it out or perish;
and if that be so, why not now,
and where you stand.
     --- Robert Louis Stevenson

Triathletes love a physical challenge and are constantly striving to become better athletes! Not only do you have a strong work ethic, but you also have a strong desire to learn.  You hire a coach for more instruction, balance and structure.  Every year after your last race, you dedicate the off season to training and improving your weakness. You can be found in the gym lifting weights, at the local pool taking swim lessons, registering for an early season 1/2 marathon or focusing on becoming a better cyclist.

Have you ever wanted to commit to enhancing your mental toughness?
Think back to your last race. How well did you handle yourself under the pressure of competition?
A strong mind is a powerful weapon to have while you're out on "your battlefield."
Talent is a gift but mental toughness is a skill!!

"Emotions respond much as muscles do.
The ones you stimulate the most become the
strongest and most accessible."   --Dr. J.Loehr

I have attached the Competitive Adjective Profile (CAP) evaluation created by Sports Psychologist James Loehr.
Each item in the document represents a continuum. rating scale  --  10 the best to 1 the worst. Triathletes spend so much time confronting their physical weaknesses.  Now it's time to evaluate and critique your mental weaknesses.
Spend some time over the weekend characterizing the most accurate description of yourself as you are when training and competing in your sport.
Yes, Describe yourself in triathlon and not your life in general.
If you don't think you can, have someone else who knows you well fill it out for you.
Be truthful and honest (take the mask off - no covering, no protecting, no hiding, no acting and no pretending). It takes courage to
unravel weaknesses and to get tougher you have to focus on your weakest link.

Is it important to you to have emotional strength??
Do you want to perform well under tremendous pressure?
If becoming tougher is your goal, take the test.
