The Law and Human Rights Centre at the Quill Foundation, Delhi, has been established for a movement level intervention around the issues of terrorism and political prisoners. The Centre, which will start its work from the 1st of July, will have three core programs:
- Social audit of terror laws, starting with the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act
- Fellowship program for Muslim and Adivasi youth
- A court monitoring program
The Centre is looking for a young lawyer with interest in research and human rights work. Those with background in social sciences, as well as demonstrable knowledge/ experience of Indian Criminal Justice system, may also apply. The position will be based out of Delhi, and would involve extensive travelling with the team. SC/ST, women, and those from marginalized backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Salary will be between 25k- 30k, and will be commensurate with experience.
