This is just a trailer to what will be soon be announced.
The DST Festival that we had mentioned at the beginning of the Semester is slowly taking shape as people like Moving Images Film Club with members like Salil and Gayatri Konkar, Isabel Santa Rita Vaz Gaspar D'Souza, educationists Alito Sequeira, Shailaja Sardessai and Dr Mahesh Pai and others are preparing a platform where your students can display their work.
It's scheduled in the second week of December and the likely venue is Goa College of Home Science. I think the organisers are looking for each college to give around 10 DSTs per division of 60 to be screened.
So far St Xavier's have said they can easily send 20; Cuncolim said 10; Pilar said 10; Canacona said 10; Sanquelim said 10 probably more; Ponda said 15; Dempo with their 5 divisions can bring at least 50 if not more; that's already 125.
There are still Quepem and Pernem and Nuvem and Margao (Damodar and Govt) and Navelim and Assagao and Saraswat and Porvorim and Bicholim to be counted. Have I missed anyone out? Given the response so far I suspect it might be physically very difficult to accomodate everyone due to time and space restraints, and so some selection may have to be done.
There is a plan to have a Polish Your DST Workshop where experienced film and DST makers will advise students on how improve their DSTs - this should be an interesting experience for students.
Could those who have not contacted please let me how many DSTs they'd like to send? (and save me a phone call :)
Cheers
Augusto
