The University of Manchester is hiring a postdoctoral Research Associate with a PhD (or close to completion) in Agricultural Engineering, Remote Sensing, Environmental/Climate Science or a related discipline as part of a new NERC-ESRC-DFID funded project embedded within IFPRI's picture-based insurance program.
The postdoc will be responsible for applying crop growth models to quantify relationships between weather conditions, management practices, and crop yields for wheat growers in northwest India, with the aim of designing improved weather index-based insurance schemes.
