Menu items missing when using a customized item-submission.xml file

Hello ~, 

When I try to use customized submission form(ETD) for a collection by editing the item-submission.xml file , and then restart the tomcat in backend.  The custom submission form works fine , however , the "Communities& Collections" and "All of MARS" menu items are missing on the page, "Statistics" shows up fine.  I attached the screenshot and item-submission.xml file.

Anyone has idea ?

Hi Elaine,

I'd recommend following our Troubleshooting guide to look for underlying errors (especially in the User Interface).  It's difficult to tell what may be going on without that error information
