Dear colleagues,

I am testing DSpace 8 and have noticed that thumbnails are not being generated from the bitstreams. I tried running the filter-media -f command, but unfortunately, it hasn’t had the desired effect.

Has anyone encountered this issue or have any suggestions for a solution?

Thank you for your attention and assistance.

Best regards, Lucas.

Hi,

Does the 'filter-media -f' command return any output?

The command ( filter-media -f) skips most of the items, I have a database with over 100k items, and the majority are being ignored. It’s very strange. Additionally, I created a new database and processed it; the thumbnail was generated, but it wasn’t rendered on the front-end.

But does it provide any reason why some items are being skipped?

Did you try removing the thumbnail of the skipped item and then running the 'filter-media -f' command again this time with the '-i' parameter, referring to the item's handle, to check if the thumbnail is generated or skipped?

What media filters are you using to create thumbnails, and what are their settings?
