Hello,

I have a problem.

I am running DSpace 6.3 on a Linux based platform running Oracle.

I have 100's of digital objects (pdf and TIFF) larger than 50 megs in size, upwards to 100 pages 

Currently, when a user visits our website they are forced to download the file to be view on their workstation. 

We are looking for a solution that will enable our users the ability to view the object on our web site in a page viewer layout

This link   https://wiki.lyrasis.org/dspace/development/development-projects/development-areas/document-viewer-integration  is no longer available with instructions. Since the move to the new web site, it has been not easy to get information

Can any assist with the following:

1. Do we need to have an external solution to solve the above problem for Dspace.?

2. Is there an open-source solution?

3. How do we install this on DSpace?

Any assistance would be most helpful and grateful.

Hi Richard,

At this time, DSpace does not have an out-of-the-box document viewer.  There are a number of external solutions listed on that page that might be installed alongside DSpace (or you might be able to customize your DSpace to use such a solution).  Unfortunately, we don't have installation instructions available on the wiki yet for any of these options.  

Hopefully, if someone on this list has already integrated a third-party document viewer into DSpace locally they'd be willing to share their experiences.
