Browse items by issue date in ascending order

Dear all

Need help on displaying correctly, browse by issue date with ascending/descending order.

When results are displayed, the ascending order takes date/month and then year.

Screenshot attached.

The browse will list all items 01-01 and year then all items from 01-02 and year. How to make this ascending browser to work displaying all items properly by dd-mm-yyyy

Can anyone help to sort out this error.
