The institutional repository of Poltava State Agrarian University https://dspace.pdau.edu.ua/,  has been using DSpace 7.6 for 8 months now. We are experiencing difficulties with the indexing of materials in Google Scholar, and we have noticed that other institutional repositories are facing the same issue. Please advise on how to resolve this situation. Thank you for your response.

Hello! Might we meet similar issue with our institutional repository https://eduo.osu.cz/ with Dspace 7.6, when our scholars want to see its content in GScholar.  The essentials for Google indexing are metatags and sitemaps. Metatags for Google are hardcoded in ver. 7 (https://wiki.lyrasis.org/display/DSDOC7x/Google+Scholar+Metadata+Mappings) and sitemaps have been also generated since installation without any our configuration change. The repository is indexed by Google as we check in Google Search Console and by random searches. Still, the content is not in Google Scholar. I guess that putting the gathered content to Scholar is completely managed by Google company and don't know any way how affect it. If anybody knows I am mistake or have another idea - much appreciated!
Best!

Hi,

Please also see the answers in this prior thread about Google Scholar indexing: https://groups.google.com/g/dspace-tech/c/X8q94F_bDpg/m/0OcpF1DAAgAJ

The summary is that DSpace cannot control whether Google Scholar is indexing your site.  You may need to contact Google Scholar for their advice.  That said, we do have some Search Engine Optimization hints/tips based on feedback that Google Scholar has sent DSpace in the past: https://wiki.lyrasis.org/display/DSDOC7x/Search+Engine+Optimization    If this guide doesn't solve your issues, I recommend contacting Google Scholar to see if they can help you determine why your site isn't being indexed.
