Hi.

We have a possible scenario where the Review and Edit groups of a collection need to edit metadata. This is possible by configuring the reviewstep bean in the workflow.xml, replacing the reviewaction with the ediatcion.

It would also be very important for us if we could configure the workflow so that if the editor rejects an item, it goes back to the reviewer and not to the submitter. Is this possible?

Does anyone know if this is possible in Dspace8?

Hi Aroldo,

I'm not aware of a way to achieve this "out of the box" in DSpace.  A "rejected" item will always be sent back to the submitter by default.

However, the Workflow process is highly configurable.  It *might* be possible to build your own custom workflow process which supported this feature.  But, it would definitely require Java coding, and you'd likely need to dig deeper into the existing Workflow Java code / configuration to understand the structure and determine how to achieve this.  I'm not sure myself if it's easily achievable...it'd require a developer to dig into it.

Still, if that's something you'd like to try to do, then I'd recommend starting with the Configurable Workflow documentation at https://wiki.lyrasis.org/display/DSDOC8x/Configurable+Workflow  It talks about how the workflow steps can be configured and how to create new, custom workflow steps.
