Issues around adding authors in the submission form

Hi all,

Currently, we are facing two following errors when we try to add a local author to the publication workflow or workspace item submission form.

1. Error: "Unable to add relationship

No suitable match could be found for relationship type isAuthorOfPublication between the two items"

Unfortunately, there were no dspace logs, angular, solr and tomcat logs when this error occurs. No logs even in the browser console and network.

I have checked the dspace technical forum for a similar issue and couldn't find one.

Also, there was an issue similar to this in github, https://github.com/DSpace/dspace-angular/issues/1661 . But, this helped us to troubleshoot but it doesn't help us to fix it.

Steps to replicate:
1. Create a publication item in a collection which has a workflow.

2. Add multiple authors through Orcid tab the author lookup window.

3. Deposit it.
4. Go to Workflow tasks and edit the same item.
5. Try adding the new local author


2. In publication submission form, if we add multiple (say 2) authors manually (without looking up), sometimes it takes only one author
and other author vanishes once refreshed or accessed the form from workspace once again.
Even this issue doesn't seem to logs anything in dspace logs, solr or tomcat logs.

Have anyone faced these issues and solved it?

We would be glad if anyone could help us on this.

Hi Akshay,

If you are still seeing this error, you might verify that your Collections both have Entity Types selected (in the Edit Collection form).  See the discussion here: https://github.com/DSpace/dspace-angular/issues/1661#issuecomment-1446057622  which led to this other ticket here: https://github.com/DSpace/dspace-angular/issues/2124

You have not said which version of DSpace you are testing with, but I'd also recommend upgrading to the latest (if you are not on it already).  I recall there have been fixes to the Submission Forms in 7.6.2 related to adding Entity relationships.  See the release notes: https://wiki.lyrasis.org/display/DSDOC7x/Release+Notes#ReleaseNotes-7.6.2ReleaseNotes
