Hi,

I'm trying out dspace 7 using the docker instructions provided at:  https://wiki.lyrasis.org/display/DSPACE/DSpace+7+Preview+Release#DSpace7PreviewRelease-InstallviaDocker

OS is windows 10
docker version 2.1.0.5

the problem that I'm running into is the database won't start.  checked the log and saw the following error:

at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:748) [?:1.8.0_212]
dspace            | Caused by: org.flywaydb.core.api.FlywayException: This PostgreSQL Database is INCOMPATIBLE with DSpace. The upgrade will NOT proceed. A supported version (>=1.1) of the 'pgcrypto' extension must be installed! Please run 'dspace database info' for additional info/tips.

Has anyone else experienced this issue?  Thanks!

Hi Jennifer,

Apologies for the late response on this.

I'd recommend using the latest and greatest DSpace 7 Docker image at this point.  The older "Preview" release image is now outdated...and it's possible that something is not working right specifically in that image.

I've just now added updated instructions for how to "Try out DSpace 7" (the latest code) via Docker or via a local install.  These instructions can be found at

Let us know if you run into any issues along the way.

Tim
