OAI response limits

In v5.8 XMLUI – I’ve edited the maxListIdentifiersSize value in xoai.xml, restarted Tomcat, and run the import and clean-cache commands – to no effect.
I’ve also previously noticed that sometimes when making edits to the OAI feed, we need to wait overnight for them to take effect (ie restarting Tomcat and re-indexing the feed has no immediate effect). Is there something else that might be happening overnight that could affect this – and if so, can we make it happen on demand?
(I don’t think it’s caching my end since I can make different requests and still seeing it behaving as per the previous configuration.)
