Hello DSpace Community,

I am working on configuring search filters and facets in DSpace 8.1 based on entity types. My goal is to allow filtering of Journal Publications by:

  • Journal Title (referencing dc.title instead of creating a separate journal.title metadata field)

  • Journal Volume Number (publicationvolume.volumeNumber)

  • Journal Issue Number (publicationissue.issueNumber)

I see that entity types like Journal, Journal Volume, Journal Issue, Publication, Organization, etc., are defined in relationship-types.xml. However, I need guidance on configuring Discovery search filters and facets for these entity relationships.

My Questions:

  1. How can I configure discovery.xml to add facets and filters for Journal Title, Volume Number, and Issue Number?

  2. Since I want to use dc.title for filtering Journal Title instead of defining a separate metadata field like journal.title, is there a way to list only Journal entity titles?

  3. Are additional configurations required in dspace.cfg or other DSpace configuration files to ensure proper indexing and searchability?

  4. Has anyone successfully implemented a similar setup? If so, could you share configuration examples?

Any guidance, configuration examples, or pointers to relevant documentation would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance for your help.

Best regards,
