Dear Gonzalo,

try to build application from dspace parent folder (i.e. if you clone using git clone https://github.com/4Science/DSpace.git --branch dspace-5_x_x-cris dspace-parent/ then the folder is dspace-parent/ ) with "mvn clean -U package" command.

Let me know.

Regards,

Luigi Andrea

Hi Gonzalo,

it is related to the use of a JRE instead of a JDK. You can find more details on this old jira ticket

https://jira.duraspace.org/browse/DS-2481

Hello everybody

Yes, it was a java environmental variable error. I have been able to install DSpace and buil Dcris, but i don´t understand what are the next steps, to run Dcris. I don´t understand the phrase "Before launch tomcat or deploy war rename webapps to jspui and solr" ¿have i rename the webbsapp folder into Dcris folder to jspui and paste into webapps folder in tomcat?

Thank you so much

I have just updated the deploy section in the documentation.

You only need to copy the jspui and solr folders from the dspace installation /webapps to the tomcat/webapps

Hi everybody

Thank you so much for your help, Andrea, but Dcris don´t run.

I am going to tell you step by step, because, i am wrong in something.

1- Build  Dspace application from c:\dspace\Dspace-5_x_x. without problems.
2- Copy all folders from c:\dspace\webapps to c:\dspace\tomcat\webapps. And Dspace run normally.
3-Into the folder c:\dspace\DSpace-dspace-5_x_x-cris, run mvn package and build Dcris.
4- Access to path  c:\dspace\DSpace-dspace-5_x_x-cris\dspace\target\dspace-installer and run ant fresh_install.
5- The previous step run without problems and build successfully.
6- Copy the folders jspui and solr from C:\dspace\webapps to C:\dspace\tomcat\webapps but finally dspace-cris not run.

Cheers
Gonzalo

You need to check the tomcat and dspace log files.

What you see in c:\dspace\tomcat\logs\catalina.out and in c:\dspace\logs\dspace.log.2017-05-03 when you start tomcat?

Hi Gonzalo,

you are giving too low memory to your tomcat instance. Try to raise the Xmx parameter to 2048M or at least to 1024M

Also remove all the webapps that you don't need from the c:\dspace\tomcat\webapps folder (i.e. xmlui, maybe sword, swordv2, rest... oai)

Clean the log files and retry.

Hi Andrea

Thank you so much, now it is running without problems.

Now i am running dcris in local host and i can not install into server and can not do test. I have a doubt, i am interested in the integration with the external database. I have readden the documentation, but i don´t understand if could i get the articles signed with the name of my University, with the integration, and add them to our dspace-cris database, automatically  or i only can do it manually?

Thank you so much, again.
Cheers
Gonzalo
