DSpace 8.2 - 502 Proxy Error

Hi DSpace Community!
We are reaching out in regard to intermittent 502 Proxy Errors with our D8.2 instances when trying to access items via their Handle URI (Handle prefix is the default 123456789 and not connected to any Handle servers).
We've increased the VM's CPU and memory allocation, as well as updated the Apache config with KeepAlive as was shared in a similar sounding issue posted here: https://groups.google.com/g/dspace-tech/c/pc-FyjacOqE
This is what our logs look like:
[proxy_http:error] (20014)Internal error (specific information not available): AH01102: error reading status line from remote server localhost:4000
