Hi,
Can anyone suggest a way to create collections in batch?
Dspace 5.10, Windows Server2008R2

Dear Arunendra,

you can use the DSpace "structure builder", as described on:

In short, this allows you to describe the desired tree in XML, and then import that XML to create collections and communities in batch.

with kindest regards,

Is there any way to assign roles in batch mode?

Hi Arunendra,

I don't think the structure builder facilitates this.

However, the AIP import and export package format DOES facilitate expression of groups & policies.
As a way to experiment with this, I suggest you setup your roles manually for a couple of collections, and then run an AIP export. Based on that export, you can see & study the structure, allowing you to create such packages in batch.

But of course, whether it's worth all this effort depends on what you aim to achieve exactly. Maybe the Policy Wildcard tool will get you quicker to your goals?

good luck !!!
