DSpace 7.6.3 - Manually uploaded thumbnails not displaying for records created prior to migration

Hello all,

I posted some information on this issue previous in the Technical Support chat.  My problem is that when manually uploading thumbnails to items that were created in DSpace 6.3 prior to our migration to DSpace 7.x, the generated or ImageMagick Thumbnail displays instead of the manually uploaded thumbnail.  The authorizations for the thumbnail bundle and bitstream do not differ between the manually uploaded thumbnails that display in items created post migration, and those that do not display for items created premigration.

Has anyone noticed similar behaviour?  Any suggestions for troubleshooting?  I'm not really sure where to start because the documentation says that manually uploaded thumbnails won't be replaced by generated thumbnails: https://wiki.lyrasis.org/display/DSDOC7x/ImageMagick+Media+Filters
